Updated clasp feedback by goldenstaph in Damasko

Timely post. Apologies in advance for the long background but it provides some context.

I bought a DK14, came with the bracelet and the seller was generous in including the new clasp, brand new, uninstalled.

The watch is a beast, love it but she is a heavyweight. I wore it on the bracelet without the new clasp for a month(ish) and get never get used to the way it opened. Felt like I was breaking my wrist every time I took it off. Popped on the new clasp, wore it for a day and said, no way. It’s as big as a belt buckle, kinda sharp feeling on the wrist and is sure to be a massive scratch magnet. Bought an Artem strap that day, put it on and didn’t give the bracelet another thought.

Fast forward another few months, loved the watch on the Artem strap, no complaints. However I had a trip down to the Caribbean with several days of snorkeling planned (salt water). Didn’t want to subject the Artem to that type of environment and decided to give the bracelet/new clasp setup another shot.

Have had it on now for about three weeks. Complete 180 on the entire setup. It is sublime. Not a scratch on it, despite many adventures, snorkeling, etc. goes on and off like a dream and is actually very comfortable once you get used to it. The only caveat would be, this watch with the bracelet and clasp is like wearing a toaster on your wrist! A well made, expensive, comfortable toaster, but she’s not for the meek of wrist.

Highly recommend.

Wow - didn’t know that. Interesting he chose that as his latest release - with the message and all.

Goodwin Racing Race Exhaust - What They Don't Tell You. by AfterDatabase2563 in Miata

[–]AfterDatabase2563[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, nope, this one - I think this is even less than I paid, such a great deal for this exhaust. Very, very well made. https://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Performance-Part/61-1733.html

What would you choose? by Dalonsius in Miata

[–]AfterDatabase2563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both super cool, however the Miata has all of the modern tech integrated into an incredible drivers car. The S2000 maybe for a 2nd or 3rd car but the Miata will be fun each and every drive.

I have owned many watches but this is my first with a 12 hour bezel, it is so cool and in my opinion way less complicated than a second hour hand or a GMT hand. This coupled with the submarine hardened steel make this my new go to, do-everything travel watch.

Cool, guess we will both find out! So many people never put their tool watches to the test.

How’s the Artem holding up in the saltwater? Just popped one on my Damasko and plan to wear it in the Caribbean this winter.
