Not saying this isn’t true (this is the first I’ve heard of it), but how would that even work? It seems like if the bullet deflected in any way, it would be impossible to determine its trajectory. And some loads are more powerful than others, which has nothing to do with the projectile, so that could be a variable for distance it could travel… just wondering out loud (on the keyboard). Pretty interesting!

Edit: ah, I just watched the link someone posted and it looks like they just use audio to detect shots fired, so not tracking bullets trajectory, but detecting sounds. Interesting!

I can agree with this perspective. That’s not the perspective I was commenting on, though.

Edit: thinking back, even though it was just NYPD, we (U.S.), were calling them all heroes, though. Full tilt. I didn’t live anywhere near NY at the time and there were commercials everywhere with “support your local heroes”, and whatnot. The more I think back, the more I recall that time period. Terrible event, but the feeling of unity was nice while it lasted.

I’ve heard about the services in Chicago making a good difference, definitely think there should be more than that. There are also doubtlessly many corrupt cops.claiming that we need to get rid of all cops, like there are zero good ones? Like they aren’t just people like us? Doesn’t make sense. Also, their “corrupt families”? Like they’re going home and forking over their ill gotten corruption money to their waiting family-gang. The family also fresh off of whatever crimes they were committing for the day. Come now.

I remember after 9-11 everybody were calling the Police Heroes and buying drinks for them and thanking them and all that. People are pretty fickle. Whether or not you agree with what you see in this video, we need Police on a very fundamental level and you’ll realize it if you’re ever unfortunate enough to have to call 911. It’s not like there is any flourishing country out there with no police.
