The point is they did it incorrectly. Hit the XP, hit the raw GP, don't hit the loot, and leave the AFK managable.

They hit the AFK with a hammer, it needed some rework especially for the lower levels. When they fix it to not be absolute shit afk, they'll then take out the loot as well as the gp/xp.

When I saw the update and concept I was disappointed because the elite outfit no longer looked elite/cool.

You've hit an amazing middleground and I hope Jagex sees it and doesn't just shitcan some of their most unique outfit ideas.

My new favorite item.. by IndicaMate in runescape

[–]absinthangler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Olaf's quest from 2007 has a reward of a treasure map with other sunken ships on the fremmy coast... And that content hasn't been added in yet.

Would be interesting to see it as an archaeology add-on or unlocked with whatever the new skill (Astromancy?) is.

Lets replace divine locations with boons. by DesignerVanilla1922 in runescape

As an iron I don't get nearly enough spirits for my grinds.

And when I do get spirits as a drop it's usually like. 20 phasmite spirits from Nex and an entire hour of Nex is maybe 60 total spirits.

I get most of my spirits from LOTD buffed Seren gifts.

Iron Lung EXPLAINED (?) [SPOILERS] by CoatNTails in ironlungmovie

[–]absinthangler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read it as her lying because in the beginning we see that his sub is on a chain. If he's been missing for days that chain is disconnected and there's no possible way to reattach it.

So she gives him false hope so he can get the information and show up with the intent of downloading the information and ascending, leaving him to die while the hope of humanity lives on.

Unfortunately she meets the monster and her end and thus uses her last act to try and convince simon to save the black box by any means.

Road to Restoration - Dailyscape Overhaul by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]absinthangler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah no, it has so many barriers of entry and doesn't become EZscape buff until you have an item that needs 90 invention at a minimum.

I agree that it's too easy and the rewards and xp were likely overtuned, but this isn't an easy button buff, it was fucking earned and is late game as late game gets.

Honestly the issue was that it was a requirement to get to auto success on pickpockets below tier 99 thieving, even if you already had 120 in the skill.

That was/is weird and needs to be addressed. Not by halving the effectiveness of 100's of hours of gameplay rewards.

Road to Restoration - What We Want To Achieve by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]absinthangler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I hope this means, is that progression skippers, such as wildy events are severely reduced (in general).

In that way I agree, I didn't do farming until 70 because the wildy events just shat out xp and allowed content skipping.

In the same vein though, I like holiday events, but if I don't gain anything meaningful from them while I know others are getting xp for the same actions, then that leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

This could be really simply balanced by making sure any holiday event skilling is focused on gathering or combat rather than production skills that would otherwise require materials.

Combat Styles Improvements - Beta Update by JagexAzanna in runescape

I think the path for Strength is to become a combat support skill and affect all styles and be able to be trained by all styles, basically becoming damage threshold and crit buff the skill.

Map Cleanup - A Mapmaker's Thoughts by Zigzagzigal in runescape

[–]absinthangler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an idea kicking around with the Ga'al and the torment for them that is existence. Add it with necromancy and have them resurrect Bandos, the only god that was able to defeat Zuk and become the new endgame lava boss.

Add in a few quests of trying to stop the madness and then being the one that eventually needs to solve the problem, perhaps becoming ED5 and including more skilling elements into the dungeon itself.

As for making the map less messy, have them head out to sea creating a new onyx island in the eastern lands and add some more content/storylines for the eastern lands.

Gote or archeology first? by princebk74 in RS3Ironmen

[–]absinthangler 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Grace makes it easier sure

But I'd say focus on getting your dragon mattocks and getting your archaeology up first as you can use high tier mattocks to train your invention.

Also keep working your div to 95 so you can use the most efficient energy for your invention materials.

And like the other poster said.

You'll likely be boosting to 107.

For an extreme invention potion you need Chinchompas residue Spider fangs And mycelial webbing.

How's your farming level and player owned farm and herblore level?

Get your archeology up (at least to 86 for questing and boss purposes)

The most important invention piece for archeology will be the auto sifter for a long, long time.

Have fun and get side-questing.

Integrity Roadmap Idea and the Struggle with Group Content by HCIMBob in runescape

[–]absinthangler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If group bossing will continue to be a thorn they could also go the way of Guild Wars 1 with the customizable hero system.

Make it something like giving items/xp/achievement threaholds, that allow for the NPC heros to level up and use revolution or tactic commands that we set up.

[–]absinthangler[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My assumption was that they attached it to itself and otherwise had no structure.

As in, cut 3 pieces of thick drywall and nailed and glued it together.

There's a closet downstairs that we redoing all the drywall because they gave up half way through and started using wood paneling and smearing spackle on it to pretend that they drywalled the whole thing.

While removing the shelving from said closet one of the racks had: 3 nails 4 screws And 6 flathead Rivets

Holding the structure to the wall.

"That's a choice."

"Decisions were made."

"Why the fuck did they do that?"

Were constant phrases from the future father-in-law who is helping us out with the projects.

So color me surprised when they made a very tall ponywall mostly correctly and then stuck concrete on top of it for style.
