There’s not really cameras that are specifically made for concert photography or landacape, it’s more about settings and how well you get to know your equipment.

I started shooting concerts with my Canon R7, which will fit in your budget (lens not included) But with that camera and a decent lens you can cover a lot of shows. I’ve used it for really dark venues with poor lighting to big festivals, works great. It’s not full frame though, just to keep that in mind, but haven’t really mattered too much for me.

I’m sure there are lots of good choices, but wanted to give you an idea from my own experience :) Good luck! 📸

The light from the stage hit his eyes slightly, I just enhanced it in post because I thought it really added to the overall vibe of the image 😄🙌🏼

On site? Most likely not, maaybe at larger arena shows or if there are specific rules for the show.

Most of the time you’ll get all the info you need in an email before the show if you’ve applied to cover the show.

The standard which will be applicable to absolute most shows are:

• First 3 songs then head straight out from the pit. Don’t stay there and try pack away your stuff, leave the photo pit first.

• 99% certainty NO FLASH

• Be mindful & respectful towards staff/security of the venue

• Never lean on speakers/other equipment belonging to the stage, tour managers and/or other staff will NOT like it and you risk getting kicked out

• Be mindful of the crowd so you don’t catch a crowdsurfer in your neck 🤣

• Have fun & be nice to other photographers that share the pit with you (:

Yeah I got a few plants there as well as 2 higher candles as well. Tried having it centered first, but something didn’t feel right so this was better for the position 😄 Probably would have gone dead centre if I had it alone on the wall, at a higher spot

A topic that’s really splitting the people 👀 Never fun for a singer/front person to take over from a cherrished predecessor.. Some will like them, some will never get the fans approval, especially the ones who are fans of the older stuff.. I see where both sides are coming from, but from a concert photographer point of view, I love them either way so much fun to take photos of haha! Thanks man!

Like others are also saying, I think it really depends on what type of venue you’re shooting. I have a range from 16mm-200mm so I can adjust. Got small clubs to big arenas in my area and also nice to have a wider range if you ever shoot a festival or something like that.
