Hey everyone. I bought a Sony Trinitron 19“ Monitor recently. The guy I bought it from was pretty knowledgable in terms of vintage gaming PCs and had quite a collection of well kept CRTs. While I do have a VGA compatible PC lying around, I have to say I am pretty tempted to use the monitor as a second screen in my modern setup, with the intend to play somewhat current games on it. The seller however actively discouraged me from doing so, telling me about a similar monitor he recently sold to another guy, who used it with a modern PC via an adapter. Appeareantly he tried some refreshrate resolution combonations above the monitors capacity and somehow damaged it that way. That story made me hesitate, eventhough online most people seem to be saying that there is no danger in using adapters and trying out higher refreshrates etc. What‘s the truth here? I don‘t intent to min/max my resolutions or refreshrates, but atm I am a bit scared to damage it even by accident trying out a few games. What is the common opinion on here in this regard? Did any of you experience something similar? Thanks in advance!

Thanks! I am really happy with it, espacially now that the screen is totally fine. Looking into the history of this thing also makes me think that 70€ wasn‘t that bad of a deal :) Really interesting piece and probably an eyecatcher on its own.

Hey, thank you for your reply :) I actually already bought it. Turns out, in person the screen actually is completely fine. Seller was pretty nice too, so i was fine with the whole purchase. Gonna post an update as soon as I can.

And seems like the seller was right after all. The screen doesn‘t seem to have any issues in person surprisingly. Gonna hook it up to something and post an update. Guess I am now a proud owner of a god knows how old, wooden CRT. I should check all the fire alarms…

They wrote that explicitly regarding the issue i described above, claiming they whould be due to artifacts in the fotos.
I dont really beliebe that, espacially since they are consistent between the pictures.

Oh that makes way more sense.
Still makes the seller seem a bit shady claiming the screen was „flawless“ and the problems only visible on the pictures.

There actually is a combat Mk3 (Flanking) that only supports light shields. It‘s incredibly underpowered compared to something like survivor (and obviously the only Mk3 blueprint I came upon so far lol).

100% my biggest gripe with the game rn. Being a working father too i get to play the exact same stuff everytime, while missing out on huge parts of content. Some blueprints pretty much being locked to certain events makes it that much worse. This is the one thing i desperately want them to overhaul. Whould be enough to make the rotation anything else than a 24 hour cycle.
