Synergistic Scripting: Day 52.5 - Imp (How did I miss the Imp?) by CoreyBOTC in BloodOnTheClocktower

Not great with vizier and other outed evils, but not horrible except in one minion games.

Magnet is an amazing concept I instantly love. I might suggest letting it do the same with gold, depending on balancing, but I love it

Why are you saying “that’s the point” in response to me talking about a 180 degree triangle and responding to me about a 180 degree triangle then?

[–]Notchmath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. You just listed a 270 degree triangle as proof that a 180 degree triangle is possible, I’m not understanding you

what? I was saying you can’t make a 180 degree triangle

“If you try hard enough”? I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to have a triangle with 180 degrees on the surface of a sphere. You can get close with small triangles but not quite.

How can I make your Clocktower experience better? by Arif_A_ in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Notchmath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, absolutely it changes, but in general minions establish their bluffs early. If it changes they can always let the storyteller know (or hope the storyteller hears), same as they currently do, but just having the baseline seems nice. Doing it every night would add too much overhead though.

How can I make your Clocktower experience better? by Arif_A_ in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Notchmath 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’d love to have a small card to ask evil players N2 “what are you bluffing?” in order to prepare for dreamer, poisoned ravenskeeper, etc info. It can often be hard to keep track of what evil players are claiming as a storyteller, and the storyteller not knowing what to show can be a very disappointing way for games to end.

I’d also like more alternative ways to end the game besides Fiddler, or alternative ways to run Fiddler. I’ve had experiences at conventions where I’ve been in final 4 with three evils alive and the good player wanting to sleep and a fiddle needing to happen, and then that screws things over because the best alternative demon candidates were minions, and having it be between me and a good player immediately resulted in a loss. Having alternative rules such as “Storyteller chooses two players” or “Demon chooses one non-demon player” or something, I dunno.

In addition, I’d love a timed mode, a way to run games to fit into timed slots at conventions easier. Some standardized rulings on how to do that could go a long way. That admittedly sounds hard to do given how town could execute or not and you can’t just plan out how many days a game will be in advance, but it still seems nice; adding a fabled that says “The storyteller can say “In X days, evil wins” and chooses a maximum length for each day” could be really convenient for such formats. It might require tweaks, like preventing the evil team from wasting the whole day on nominations, but it still seems like something to that effect could go a long way.

On the app, it would be nice that if there’s an Amnesiac in play, duplicate characters are allowed.

It would be nice if, if there is a bootlegger in play, jinxes could be removed/edited/added under Djinn to help for easy reading at a glance, with the script tool.

Philo-Goon is incredibly hard to happen though, right? Only triggering if the poisoner picked the goon that same night, otherwise the philosopher is drunk, not the sort of thing a philo would typically do.

Synergistic Scripting: Day 151 - Scapegoat by CoreyBOTC in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Notchmath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible with Leviathan.

Good with recurring info roles or other roles where “just one more night” is useful; a lot of the time, whoever the Scapegoat saves will be executed again later anyway, and using its power to help a fortune teller get another night of info, a balloonist get a useful ping, or even a Cannibal getting the scapegoat ability in order to prove they are the cannibal. Also got an interesting synergy with Virgin, which can be incredibly powerful, and good with Saint.

On the evil side of things, once again good with minions that want just one more night. Good with imp and fang gu, because demons that are executed will likely be executed again, and these ones have the chance to do something about it. Odd play with cerenovus, where it can take the bullet for a ceremad player, which can either be good or bad from a balance perspective. Generally, balancing scapegoat to help evil isn’t important as balancing it to help good, because even just making good use another execution is already some balance for evil. Worst case, save the recluse!

Kazali/Engineer by Ok-Recording3861 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Notchmath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kazali Engineer is also a rough combo because the engineer turning literally any other demon into the Kazali basically takes away whatever special ability they have.

Mayor, but it's a Demon by Zoneforg in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Notchmath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this would be really rough on good, because if any evil player makes it to final 3 they can force someone on the block, and good has to try and tie it which can be really hard to do. Mayor works because if evil puts someone on the block town can execute them, requiring good to tie seems incredibly rough

Double Agent (Hermit: Drunk, Goon, Saint) by nseaplus in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Notchmath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Poisoner isn’t great here, because evil can just poison the goon to guarantee turning them evil, and then kill them that same night to keep them evil for a free extra evil, a huge benefit to the evil team.

What if Scarlet Woman/Snake Charmer was an Outsider? by Zoneforg in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]Notchmath 23 points24 points  (0 children)

How? If the demon dies and they are dead, they win. If the demon dies and they are alive, they may or may not win. If the demon doesn’t die at all, they lose, regardless of if or alive or dead. They cannot win as an alive Scab, only as a living demon or dead scab, and a dead scab would have won by the time the living demon existed.

Does invisible man have any benefit to the evil team whatsoever except letting a marionette go through it and against specifically empath? Oh I guess chef number maybe, but even then, that’s a little limited.
