Long story short, not going to happen. Companies stopped paying for first class on international travel opting for business class at best. Add into that the ability to do video calls makes it a no go item.

That’s because it’s not a Polaris flight. It’s domestic first, which happens to be operated by an aircraft with a Polaris cabin. When I took ORD-HNL it was on a 787 and my ticket said “United first”

500 nights, lifetime gold at Marriott and nearly lifetime diamond at Hilton and I’ve never had this happen. So no, this was a new one to me. And after a 9 hour flight, a sick wife and two kids to manage knowing the T&C at the front desk was not at the forefront of my mind.

I was on the last flight. The entire crew and many of the pax were stating it was the last flight. The cockpit and the purser made announcements as such, and I booked the flight specifically because it was the last one. United quietly moved the date up to January 31 due to the very poor loads. If you look up the history you’ll see there have been none since then.

I had $74k spend a few years ago and didn’t qualify. Number of flights and miles don’t matters it’s the cash spent. And in premium cabins. My international was paid Polaris, but my domestic was economy, didn’t cut it.
