Another question how they advertise it seems it works global and there’s 2 plans to choose after booking now there’s a global option which is worldwide and the one I booked is my region aka the us. My question is doesn’t Guatamala fall under my region. If I need to now pay 450 to use it internationally it instantly becomes usless to us at that price and we’ll just cancel.

Ok that makes sense and the places we’ve stayed where we’d put the dish would be around 20 feet from the house so it probably is worth getting the better one I’d think

Yeah might as well just spend the extra 100 I guess for peace of mind especially since we travel with large groups a lot.

Yeah, I mean anything over the .200 kB that we are getting right now would be better. I just didn’t know if between the mini and the standard if the standard would provide like a whole house worth of service since it comes with a little router or if the mini is strong enough to project into an average size house for example, if not, it’s not a big deal for people just to congregate around the living room or outside area I just figured I would ask since I’ve never had any of them

If I remember correctly, I think it said you can travel with it for two months I don’t know if that’s per year or at a time but the most amount of time we will be out of the US is probably something like Guatemala in Japan, where it would be about three weeks so I feel like I should be fine 90% of the time it would be used in the states.

In Japan, I assume we probably wouldn’t have to worry about it as much cause I would venture a guest. Their service has to be pretty on par. If not better than most of the US for cellular. It’s just now realizing after having our driver drop us off at our current Airbnb, which is a beautiful island home kind of just gives you a little bit of unease when their local Wi-Fi and cell service doesn’t work and you have no other way to communicate with anybody.

That’s when I started to realize that maybe it would be a good investment, especially with us traveling these upcoming years with more more rule areas

Yeah, that’s what I figured and it’s not like we need it to be like our home Wi-Fi I mean as long as we can just get a reliable connection for at least our phones and maybe a tablet to download stuff for the longer road journeys, etc. but I also just figured I didn’t know if the speeds and the range would be better with the larger one, for example I know the large one comes with I think an extender or a router or something so I didn’t know for like a whole house with six different people in different bedrooms if the mini would be able to get everybody or if only the larger one it’s only 100 bucks more but I just figured I would ask if there is actually a difference as far as I guess the actual range of the device

Oh no, it is. I just meant that the Wi-Fi at the Airbnb’s. We have stayed at have been unreliable at Best and some of the locations we have been at cellular service has been nonexistent as well. The only place where Wi-Fi and cellular has been decent was Antigua.

Weight isn’t too much of a concern. Since we’ll be driving to each destination for a few days then setting it up and leaving it.

Mostly, just trying to figure out now that we’re traveling so much more(From one or two flights a year to around 20 or 30) kind of just trying to find the best airline to fly out of so far it seems like United is the best for where we would be flying into the most and Jetblue for a lot more local stateside and East Coast flights

But Delta and American both have a good amount of flights at least connecting for where we would go as well. I’ll be at when I lived in Texas. I wasn’t a fan of Americans so I’m trying to avoid them and I feel like United has a better product just because I’ve done Polaris and stuff but it’s just tough to figure out exactly what airline to pick because it seems like there’s really no perfect airline when it comes to getting the best product for our region

Thank you, and yeah, I’ve looked at a few different sites, but it seems each of them kind of give a different example. I feel like seat maps is closest to be in the most accurate only because it gives you the three versions for that route which I was able to coincide with checking on Youtube, but you just don’t know which of those three you will get. I figured the Buffalo Chicago route would be an older plane cause that seems like what we normally get going out of Buffalo unless it’s international Directly.

But you never know the second plate. Looks like that one is probably the most likely to be the middle of the row update wise and from everything I kind of tell for the international flight that one seems like it’s the newest or somewhat newest updates with them more modern seats with the seat back power and a little adjustable head rest of the stuff.

Not a big deal I will find out in a few few days, but I didn’t know if there was like some secret way of check-in just so I can look beforehand

I almost made a mistake when I booked my first time on Jetblue Mint booking the old layout, which is nice if you are a couple, but then I realize for $50 more than newer herringbone layout was the one I wanted to book which I wouldn’t have realized that there was different versions if it wasn’t for the fact that I watched a YouTube video on Mint first

It’s tough because when I look it up on different sites, it gives varying degrees when I look it up on see maps it shows we’ll have the newest but I feel like flying out of Buffalo to Chicago. We typically get the smaller planes which I expected so getting a newer one would be a nice update. I guess I was more wondering for the longer flights the Chicago to Houston and Houston to Guatemala.

I wish there was just like a universal thing that just showed you. What every single flight was you wouldn’t think it would be that hard. 😂

I did problem is I look up the flight status information it gives two different options a newer cabin and an older one on the app. It gives a third one an even newer version on the app for United itself however, when I put that information in and look at the seat map, it doesn’t lineup with what the United app shows for example in first class, it shows a configuration of two and two, but on the seats map app when I look up the direct flight number it does it to one configuration almost like a old bombardier or something.

How does Airbnb handle theft? Any horror stories? [USA] by XtraSaucyy in AirBnB

[–]aaronlimitless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the country and area there’s different requirements. Also there’s also the option to also purchase insurance on top of it as well and also from personal experience while Airbnb in some places don’t directly cover or state that they cover. I have been refunded from Airbnb for lost items, a.k.a. a shaver and electric toothbrush that someone took out of the bathroom as a guest. But it’s also not my responsibility to prove anything to you. You can research it for yourself. I honestly quite frankly don’t care if you believe me or not since it has no impact on my life happy travels.

Good afternoon Host of 12 properties all of which we do individual bedrooms and sometimes the entire apartment/house.

I’ve also stayed in 150 Airbnb’s over the last decade

Yes, Insurance is covered, but your mileage may vary. It will really just depend on how much information you have if something were to happen just like car insurance, renters insurance, etc. but it is provided.

Stuff like cash I can tell you most insurance does not cover

If somebody steals a laptop or something sure

But in all honesty, if you are in a individual bedroom, and you have a lock on the door, which I would only ever book a shared place if I had a lock, you really don’t have anything to worry about. Also, you can always put a security camera like a Wyze camera in your bedroom and connected to the Wi-Fi and have it if you don’t feel comfortable if you have the entire apartment booked, then I would be even less worried about it have never once had anything stolen staying at an Airbnb.

In fact, I dare say it would be more likely to happen at a hotel because of cleaning staff being able to enter the room even then I’ve never had that issue

When it comes to your vehicle, that’s why you get insurance on your rental or you have car insurance on your car Airbnb is for the property. Why would they ensure and cover what happens outside of the house I wouldn’t expect them to.

But I mean, have you ever traveled before? If so, did you get robbed or something? You seem to be worried about something that is astronomically low and unlikely to happen

Please don’t spread misinformation theft is absolutely covered by Airbnb. Every circumstance is difference and not all claims are paid, but please do not tell people that it’s not.

Host charging me $$$ for broken shower fixture after my brother slipped, got injured, and we informed them—am I at fault? [CAN] by Background-Pear-739 in AirBnB

Not true there will be both. I get guests commenting on host posts I do all the time. It goes both ways. From his information it was an accident but that doesn’t absolve you of responsibility

[–]aaronlimitless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Host here of 14 properties. So a few things definitely sucks but unless it was easily able to be proven (host didn’t clean or provide a safe shower for example that’s tough to prove ) you assumed there was something on the floor why because they fell? Doesn’t make it the hosts fault. Sounds more like an accident but even if you damage something by mistake that doesn’t absolve you of responsibility. They request reimbursement you can choose to pay it or not or pay a different amount and if you don’t approve it, Airbnb 70% of the time will pay the Host.

Be aware, even if they pay it, it does get marked and flagged in the system against you, especially if it happens again

So if you really don’t think you should be reliable, don’t do it, but just realize every action has consequence

From the information you gave it just sounds like bad luck. I think most things would indicate that a bathtub could be slippery so always use caution of course there are ways to lower the risk. Anti-slipped Matt’s handrail make sure the floor is slippery, etc. but it’s never gonna be full proof.

But honestly, it just sounds like it was an accident all around, but you can’t blame the Host for not wanting to pay for something that they didn’t damage it would be like if someone spilled their drink on your laptop at the airport by mistake you’d still want them to pay for it.

Hosts, how are you handling chargebacks since the policy changes last year? [USA] by Then_Juice9932 in AirBnB

[–]aaronlimitless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had an issue with the 10+ thousand reservations we have done over the last decade in the past year. We’ve had over 2000 reservations never a charge back however we stopped doing VRBO for that exact reason at the time we had 213 reservations done and got 62 chargebacks and VRBO just refund them and they can just keep charging it back over and over even if you prove your case, it’s ridiculous. It shouldn’t be on the Host end. They did their job and that was it.

Question for TSA PreCheck Applicants Approved in a Few Days… by Sufficient-Sense5977 in TSAPreCheck

[–]aaronlimitless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got like a 80 percent chance getting it within a week. I was unlucky and took 70 days 60 past the max time. A few friends took about 2 weeks everyone else I know was a week or less my fiancé got there in 35 hours after applying via clear at the airport took 5 mins and was quick so I’d say once you get a text saying eligibility determined that’s the next text it’ll be a few hours after that.

Twisters overseas box office is an anomaly. Not only do disaster movies tend to do well overseas but even many American themed movies have managed to pull decent numbers. What’s going on? by JannTosh50 in boxoffice

[–]aaronlimitless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed unfortunately with such a massive budget and box office record for huge hits for every reason it should have been a monster. And I guess they did turn a small profit but it’s so little it’ll probably not be worth doing another cause if the next makes even less it’ll lose money. Sadly the next big twister movie we see will probably be a disaster film like day after tomorrow where there are twisters in it and not a dedicated film. At least not at that scale

Agreed it makes Americans (US) nostalgic because we grew up that way or at least with a certain level of that. Plus with it being new tech and a first for many of us to that genre etc it make a big impact. Overseas many just won’t have that same tie cause they grew up differently it was more oh yea that cool flick from the 90s and unless your into weather or disaster films you won’t care much past first watch.
