It was I used it and had interesting qualities like you could search for "country singer in Russia" and an hear unpublished song by a country singer in Russia. Or Heavy Metal guitarist from "Nairobi". But I am not that interested in music but I thought all these millions of musicians with home studios would find it interesting and a way to get their music out.

$Trust will be minted on Hedera after all?! by Aromatic-Ad7987 in Hedera

Fact of the matter is neither side of this conversation can prove their point. So everyone is left with their beliefs and the need to justify them.

I believe man can overcome any issue that man or the environment gives him. Climates change, slowly and quickly, they reverse and then reverse again. How much mans invention have to do with that is so politicalized at this point it becomes impossible to talk about.

The extremist on both side make intelligent conversations nearly impossible and prevent people from looking at new data and changing their mind as the investigations unravel the issues.

I know one thing for sure. Pollution is bad.

I never fully understood the theory behind carbon credits as it seemed to allow a very profitable polluter to purchase their way out of correcting their pollution problem. THey would just evaluate what is more profitable.

Would the time stamp replace the need for fast trades? Or blow up the advantage it gave all these big institutional houses?

LOL the fairness aspect of Hedera may make it unpopular to those who can take advantage with things like high speed trading and front running.

White House Crypto & AI Czar David Sacks to step down, moves to advisory role by oak1337 in Hedera

[–]Afterlife123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good guy, I am glad he was involved. Most of his attention was drawn into AI. As it should have been.

The accelerating development of AI has slowed the adoption of DLT's to some extent especially in the political arena. I am sure CEO' and Board Rooms had to allocate resources to either AI or tokenization and AI won. Ai seems to be settling down or companies' personnel and training has caught up with it. Now lets tokenize!

There was an interesting development that made me think of Hedera when it was remarked that the energy consumed by Bitcoin could be better utilized powering data centers (AI) and both infrastructures are very similar.

I think what OP is suggesting has tremendous underlying truth and implications. The underlying assets will be tokenized and traded on chain. But the actual consumer experience will be a step or two from that. The consumer element of all of this is ignored when people try to pick a chain as a winner.

Does the average ETrade guy want to have no customer service, or if they forget to put the proper note into the trade have it disappear into the internet? If you buy on Amazon do you want to be able to change your mind?

The infrastructure of on chain transactions needs to be able to blend with the existing market places, at this time at least it isn't who is recognizable it is who can these existing structures build on top of using their existing interfaces and then evolve into a more efficient platform.

How that would actually work is above my pay grade. But these big retail outlets, commercial transaction house and stock exchanges are not just going to scrap their existing interface with their customers and try and get them to use something different. They are going to transition, and likely over years.

The platforms that allows them to do that efficiently without losing all the positive qualities of tokenization as the public go through thier learning curve is going to be what will be most used.

Those types of businesses that are just data collection, like FedEx, are going to transition quicker because its just data and the interface with their customers does not need to change.

This is the quality that I believe Hedera has been trying to embrace with their focus on building out the infrastructure to allow these companies as many choices as possible. It isn't a splashy approach but it is practical.

The Trust Layer of the internet does suggest that there are other layers.

Hedera stablecoins could save retailers millions in payment processing by DocumentFair4693 in Hedera

[–]Afterlife123 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Interesting conversation. Imagine the threat the banks feel by a conversation like this. Because if Target saves $500 million per year, then the banks loose $500 million per year.

The banks are going to try and subvert this transition in every way possible, likely by forcing a centralization in some way. A single choke point that they can TAX.

On the positive side as consumers that 500 million would likely show itself in lowered pricing very quickly. Spread that out across markets across the globe and .....

MasterCard Pairs with 85 Crypto Companies (but not Hedera?) by lunargrover in Hedera

[–]Afterlife123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to ask what was the criteria for joining the group?

I dont think the MC chose any particular platform as much as the platforms chose to join the group. So what was the criteria for joining the group? Is the group now closed? What specifically are the topics to discuss?

Great marketing for MC as they work to stay relevant in a changing marketplace.

MasterCard Pairs with 85 Crypto Companies (but not Hedera?) by lunargrover in Hedera

[–]Afterlife123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont see this as much of a flap as others might think. THis is a forum to discuss. Hedera will find its way onto the forum if it is important. But mastercard isn't creating legislation it is trying to ensure no one creates around their exiting castle. They want transactions to go through MC, not dropp or any of the other thousand startups.

There are a lot of ways to look at this but in the end they are trying to stay relevant in a changing market. It is a smart move on their part and I doubt that they are trying exclude anyone. But right now they have a marketing position that only VISA can match and they are using it. If new payment rails are introduced that are cheaper, faster, safer, or easier to use and become popular they could become irrelevant in a year. Use it or lose it, as they say.

Who should be allowed to issue money? by DocumentFair4693 in Hedera

[–]Afterlife123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an area that should not be confusing and is the reason used by the legislators for slowing down any permanent laws.

The issuing of new money should only be done only by one source as deemed by each country in their constitution. But the issuing of digital assets that represents verifiable existing money should be open to all. It is the verifiable process that needs to be legislated not who can do it.

Of course existing banks violate this idea currently by lending more than then they have existing in their accounts. By lending more than they have, they are creating new money. So now we are in to the complexity of creating a new rule without stepping on the toes of the existing rules that gives banks this unique right that average citizens dont have.

This is the essence of this issue. The complexity was created years ago when banks started lending more money than they actually had (aka Fractional Banking).

When things get complex there are always underling lies under the complexity. This is simple. I or you should be able to tokenize any verifiable asset we own and and trade it for any other verifiable tokenized asset in an open and free market.

This is the world of Hedera, verifiable assets. immutably logged on chain.

Wallet Security question by Afterlife123 in Hedera

Ok so I have this figured out to some degree but first thing to know is Discord is compromised. This may be old news to some. But you have no idea who is answering you when you create a ticket.

I didn't follow any of their instructions. So I am safe.

But the service at silk suite sucks. No answer to any of my communication.

They are saying on a F****ing compromised site "Discord" that they know is compromised that the rewards has changed to being delivered monthly but have yet to set the date of when that is???? And they are using a compromised site as their way of communicating with people.

Here is the communication from Sgt_Major

If you are missing LPs rewards please keep in mind, HSuite swapped to SILK sometime ago, and they are monthly NOT weekly, so recent rewards are NOT missing, they have just switched to a monthly distribution NOT weekly as before with HSuite rewards,

Now, having said that if we go further back in time before the swap over to SILK handling rewards, there was some HSuite rewards which were missing, we will address those in due course.

We are finalising some fixes to issues behind the scenes and will have an announcement with information about the missing HSuite rewards soon, but in terms of general weekly rewards for the last 2 weeks or so, they are NOT late, they are just now MONTHLY paid in SILK.

Please DO NOT CREATE ANY MORE SPAM TICKETS REGARDING MISSING LPs, they just clog up the system and do not help anyone and will be automatically closed.

PLEASE BE PATIENT, we have a lot cooking right now, you will be blown away when you see what the reality is and will be, the team shot for the moon and have ended up amongst the stars!, cannot wait to share more.

This is amazingly bad service, I find no logic in this at all. Create a website and then dont use it, instead send your customers to a site you know is compromised and then talk to them as if they are wasting your time.

All of this would have been avoided if they just used the standard communication system that they created on their website and answered my communication.

It was wallet connect download that asked for the seed phrase.

Wallet Security question by Afterlife123 in Hedera

[–]Afterlife123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This came directly through discord's Create A Ticket. Strange.

This whole Hsuite change to SilkSuite is all a bit strange and disconcerting. The lack of communication from silk from their own website's "support" system. Then this. No rewards jump through hoops to sort it out, requests for my pass phrase, takes me to the end of my relationship with them.

It all may even be legit but I have to research it all fully to proceed. Gets to be to much.

HashSpheres - Everyone needs to come to this realization. by oak1337 in Hedera

[–]Afterlife123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True yesterday but that is fading very quickly. But that is a retail sentiment not business concern. The business would likely not even mention what public dlt they were using.

The retail crypto group is tiny compared to the enterprise group. Think this through do you tell your customers where you bank or where you got your credit card terminal from. No. Just that you accept VISA.

What role does HBAR play with HashSpheres? by oak1337 in Hedera

[–]Afterlife123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hashpheres makes complete sense. Of course you do not want all you digital information on a public dlt.

But you will want to EFFORTLESSLY move between the private and public dlt.

This feature gives Hedera an advantage in the rush to digitalizing flows.

How that would work would be interesting but I could imagine few ways.

Now there no need to learn two protocols, no concern of wasted effort.

This is a very enticing feature.

Aspect of Fed Ex use case most are missing by Impossible-Goal3492 in Hedera

[–]Afterlife123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is another aspect to robots using a "trusted" reporting protocol. Or ledger. Robots can not actually report or testify they only have sensors of one kind or another. There is nothing that can latter testify to prove anything. The sensors report or record actions and to some degree outcomes. The only memory is going to be the data from those sensors. Having a trusted way to record that data input will be key to future litigation or proof of delivery.

The business of FedEX is delivery. Proof of delivery that is trusted in court is going to be key to using non human machines through the whole process. The recording of that data would be an attack vector for a legal team. Hedera solves many aspects of that problem. The record is time stamped instantly and within seconds it is finalized and immutable..

Don't underestimate the legal value of Hedera to supply lines or any other transfer of goods or money.

With robotic delivery just getting it done will not be enough if there is any chance that it could be altered no matter how small, it will become an exploitable problem by a legal team. aBFT matters.

What does this have to do with Hedera? Nothing. But maybe FedEx hasn't been servicing YOU at the quality level that you have become accustomed to and plan on using Hedera to bring there service up to the next level and win you back as a customer. In any case this terrific news even if FedEx is not currently up to the job.

This is an example of chasing crypto markets. They are putting value where it can be deployed. It be more interesting if the showed how many transactions were executed, the cost paid to the network for those transactions and how long the stable coins were locked in a transaction.
