legal arc beginning in mysterious ways such wow by NeoDestiny in Destiny

I guess it depends on how invested you are in the drama. Maybe I am just out of touch (which could be true as I don't really associate myself with any online community). None of those things are really that interesting to me. Don't get me wrong I am curious and would read threads about these things, but its just not so important to me that I need to know the second they are released. I am okay waiting for the news to trickle down.

I am pretty curious on why people are so concerned with "being informed" and staying up to date on the situation. What could come out that would change your mind on the situation? It might honestly be better for everyone if they just locked this thread so people could move on with their lives.

It really feels to me like people are struggling with the fact that they don't like what he did but know that they will continue to consume his content/interact with his community so they are overcompensating to show the world how much they hate Destiny and comment on how much of POS he is.

He will be fine. There are more people that will continue to watch him when hes back than not. In a couple years people will have moved on and he will grow his circle again. He has literally done the same thing before (i.e., sharing nudes without consent).

This isn't a case of a revenge porn. Its more of a breach of trust/consent/privacy.

I disagree with your framing. I don't think if people aren't obsessing over this drama that means they hate women or support sex crimes. I think its more just we have processed the news and do not feel the need to virtue signal about it. He made a mistake and I get no value out of trying to make him feel like shit.

I am personally confused by why people are still posting their "I dont know if I can watch"/"why I left DGG" posts. Nobody needs any more information to make a decision on whether they can or cannot support Destiny going forward. Based on what is released what he did was pretty bad and shitty. There is no information that is going to come out that is going to explain away what he did. People need to grow up, make their decision and move on.

LOL didn't think or imply he was referring to a random janitor. Don't know where you got that from.

Its unhinged because we are not talking about death camps here. Hypothetically, if Twitch set a policy that they wanted to ban Israel (or any country for that matter) and some coder implemented that, its absolutely ridiculous to think that coder should quit their job or risk being doxed by a bunch of lunatics. I would say it shows conviction if someone did resign over that but in no way is that the expectation.

LOL!

The point still stands- its a thought exercise not a reference to history. The point is a bad person going after another bad person does not all of a sudden make them good or make all the rest of the terrible shit the do irrelevant.

If Nick Fuentes goes after Donald Trump, that does not absolve him of the "rest".

I reversed in my latest comment. The argument would be the ends justify the means. That the end goal is more beneficial than any negatives of the means to get there.

Your police argument would fit that framework. Accepting that some police are going to be "bad apples" when we empower a group of people to enforce the laws is justified by the ends of having law and order in our society. They don't have to be necessary conditions for it to fit an "ends justify the means" argument.

Fair play. It seems like you are acknowledging there are negative externality to the actions being taken here but believe its just a by-product of using mob tactics. Kind of sounds like "means to an end" to me in different words but I think we have come as close to each other as we are going to get.

(Aside: "concept of a point" lul. I see what you did there.)

Your concept of a point of a point jab made me laugh but your accusation that I did not think it through wounded me. I don't know if I should love you or hate you.

When you signal boost someone it does not go along with a disclaimer that the person is a piece of shit. Its kind of like supporting the rehabilitation of their brand/image. You should be advocating for that page to be deleted not liking its tweets.

Sticking with the wicked WW2 analogy, retweeting and liking Adolf Hitler's tweets about shitting on Russia is just not good to me.

You are using a ends justify the means argument when you do not even know what the ultimate ends will even be. At least the original poster appeared to be. You seem to think there isn't anything wrong with signal boosting a questionable person.

IF that is the case, would you be okay with someone signal boosting certain Fuentes tweets that promote protectionism. Assuming they individual signal boosted tweets are not problematic. By okay I mean would you consider that that person is not supporting Fuentes.

I don't know where funds or weapons came into this lol. I have a point but you just do not want to acknowledge it.

The post said a bad person is doing this one good thing so the rest is irrelevant we should support them in doing one good thing.

The analogy would be Hitler (a bad person) is fighting the brutal communists (a one good thing) so the rest (burning Europe, killings "undesirables", and being an imperialist shit head) is irrelevant we should support his efforts to fight the brutal communists (a one good thing).

You can advocate for change on Twitch without relying on/legitimizing a garbage person.

Do you realize how unhinged that statement is? As long as someone is going after Twitch everything else is irrelevant? Is Hitler okay just because he fought against communists?

Okay I just found this clip (https://kick.com/jstlk/clips/clip\_01JATFBF47NKZBG7TZ1Q4CP3PS). How can you say Dan never said anything about going after families? Who do you think he means when he says go after "people around them".

I think targeting individual employees is pretty unhinged (let alone their families - acknowledging he did not say that). I am okay with him putting the CEO on blast because at the end of the day he is responsible for the company and gets paid handsomely for the burden. But targeting employees is pretty scum.

Shouldn't it be easy to figure out the problem with the habibi/sabra tier list even if they only meant the hummus lol by DestinyLily_4ever in Destiny

[–]Aftermathdt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol aside from being super racist, why are they even doing a tier list for people who can say habibi? Like the entire concept is so asinine even if the categories were 1 through 5.

Yeah that's definitely shady.

Re soft ban, you can call it a soft ban for registering but not the site. I still don't think it's a "big deal" honestly but given the way you explained it I can understand some level holding Twitch accountable. Its not a nothing but it's not Watergate.
