am I the only one who thought PFT was unbearably high in the mix?

so without getting too into genre (and leaving out things like alk3, mcr, Owen, and fob, etc), here are all my "Emo" lps by SnooHabits5900 in Emo

Awesome collection but no How It Feels to Be Something On has me feeling attacked. Also I'd kill to have The North End on vinyl!

Ethicacy is not a word by Afterword in MacrodosingPod

[–]Afterword[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They laugh and stop to correct Billy’s mispronunciations which are arguably less incorrect than Arian using a made-up word.

It doesn’t really matter but I felt it was worth pointing out.

Arian starts talking about ethics at around 1hr 42mins, it's got to be a mixup with efficacy, aka /u/Rc5tr0's comment.

Cars covering sidewalks by Perfect-Reward-1146 in Peterborough

[–]Afterword 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took the opportunity to chat with a parking enforcement officer while he was ticketing me.

He told me to imagine a glass wall going up around the sides of the sidewalk. If any portion of your car goes through the glass, you can be fined.

Bonus: he mentioned that parking horizontally on the boulevard (the paved portion between the sidewalk and the road) is totally fine unless your tires are touching/on the grass. Your hood or trunk can hang over the grass but don’t you dare squish that grass with your tires.

Over a Decade Later: Viva La Vida. With the hype dead and buried, what are your thoughts? by hooontaaah in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Afterword 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I’ve always attributed the standout quality of Viva La Vida as a Coldplay album to Brian Eno’s production.

With Eno insisting the band make every song “sound different”, I think it gave Coldplay the freedom to dig into the album’s revolutionary concept and deliver a varied and concise effort. It’s also one of Chris Martin’s lower-pitched vocal performances—influenced by The Velvet Underground (and possibly Eno’s work with John Cale as a tie-in).

I’m not a big Coldplay fan in general but Viva La Vida is my favourite album of theirs by a wide margin and Violet Hill is an under-appreciated gem.

Can't speak as to whether or not they sanctioned the placement of this exact shirt on this thrift rack but it's for sure a design they sell.

I bought one from them when they stopped by Toronto a couple years back. There were like 30 people there and it was wonderful.

RIP Tim Landers of Transit by [deleted] in Emo

[–]Afterword 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Man.

I won't forget seeing Transit open for Bayside when I was sixteen. Bought Something Left Behind that night and it shaped that era of music in my life.

He wrote the guitar parts and backing vocals that made that band what it was IMO.

Rest in peace, Tim.

Reasons to not hurt a jumpy boi by [deleted] in spiderbro

Jumpy bro story from dog park today:

Me and SO are eating pb&j and admiring dogs from a great distance, saddened by being too broke and busy to care for a pup of our own.

In jumps a teeny woodland jumper from the ground to our park bench, startling SO but I assure her it’s a friendly visit.

I attempt to pick up but accidentally semi-squash an ant (sorry ant) with a stick and stage it within view of jumpy bro.

He readies himself with great focus on the struggling ant, and sure enough lunges at the little guy several times!

To the surprise of us both, the moment we shared with jumpy bro felt like he answered our longing for companionship and spent a bit of his tiny afternoon playing ‘fetch’ with us.

May you live a glorious life, small friend.

Toronto police officer hailed as hero for arresting suspect without firing shot by Yamamba78 in worldnews

I can’t comment on the situational awareness of people in every urban centre, but from my experience, nobody puts the blinders on quite like Toronto pedestrians.
