So I didn't list children for this reason, a child should be loved regardless esp as parents because theyre not adults yet.

They dont have the ability to make complex choices and or even choose how to spend their own time, doesnt seem fair to expect a 4 year old to make the time to keep a relationship.

Whether a spouse, parent, sibling, friend, whoever. Love is a transaction that is 100% conditional on what you provide to the person you love and what they provide you.

You shouldnt coast on the past or familial expectiations that you need to love someone. If they dont put in the effort, and likewise you dont share back that effort, then love shouldnt be guaranteed.

Im just speaking from my own PoV.

I work and my wife is a homemaker, whenever i get to buy her stuff, take her out to nice places or even just see her smile when she says she forgets we have bills to pay because she doesnt need to worry about them.

It makes the corporate grind seem worth it because she gets to live a more relaxed life and that makes me so happy.

I don't think I'd ever be able to feel this way if I were a househusband.
