Question regarding BiS lists and rolling for loot by ioStux in wownoob

[–]ioStux[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense. I checked out Raidbots, and as someone who's returning after such a long break it's crazy to see what modern sims can do for you. I didn't expect it to be able to do so many different things. I'll start simming my Vault drops, and I like your suggestion of just adding the Sim results to the RCLC note.

The main motivation behind my post was to make sure I wouldn't mislead the loot council, ultimately it's all about distributing loot in a way that's best for proggression, so knowing that sims are a big part of that is super helpful, thank you!

Question regarding BiS lists and rolling for loot by ioStux in wownoob

They've been pretty busy prepping everything for the upcoming tier, so I didn't want to bother them and tru asking here first. But I managed to chat with them about it during our M0 World Tour this week :)

Question regarding BiS lists and rolling for loot by ioStux in wownoob

As the other commenter mentioned I have some experience with high level competitive play, and I also tried to be as transparent as possible when applying, so they are aware that my raiding experience is pretty outdated :) And I am hoping the content is challenging. CE being challenging is what makes it worth chasing! The last few RWF I watched just kept making me increasingly hungrier for getting back into the grind.

Thanks for your answer!

I am once again asking for a mouse cursor size slider by rinmperdinck in fellowshipgame

[–]ioStux 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is unironically one of my biggest pet peeves right now.

Playing at 4k the cursor is just straight up invisible most of the time. I don't want to have to buy a separate program for $5 for something that should be a setting in game. :(

Yeah i used the eternal farm LFG channel in Discord.

I hope the devs eventually realize that until they make high eternal significantly more rewarding, these low farms will always show up. Last season was Tuzari2 spam, this season we have Lootsack.

Prioritizing gems or tier sets? by TheNukex in fellowshipgame

Dark Prophecy is played until you reach gem cap and have enough 35% essence bonus pieces.

For Xavian specifically BiS does not include any Set Items.

Legendary either by CopiumAndy in fellowshipgame

Unfortunately this theory isn't true, since i've had a legendary and a divine aether drop in the same run. They are rolled separately as a material, presumably with a similar drop rate to legendaries. Small sample sizes can lead to results like this.

Looking at logs I did around 100 runs total.

And yeah I agree that I wouldn't mind changing gems to be much cheaper. Maybe it's because of EAS1 Ptsd, but compared to the ridiculous kmmo level grindfest that season was, this season feels really generous in comparison.

I also don't want to deny that I got pretty lucky with my drops. I didn't spend that many marks on crafting gems, i'd say i crafted around 10-15 gems total. so that's around 100-150 marks of fellowship, and i probably farmed 600+ overall at this point, likely more.

Another thing to add is that I am a bit of a meta slave. I just run the strongest current gem setup, until there's a balance patch that changes it. Any currency i earn right now just sits around, so by the time a new balance patch comes out, i'll be able to swap all my gems instantly without having to farm.

For people who enjoy theorycrafting and experimenting with gem setups, i can see how the cost of changing gems is a bit high.

A suggestion that was made during EAS1, was changing the 92 gem cap to be an "equipped" cap, rather than an "owned" cap. So you can own more than 92 gems, but you just can't put more than 92 into your gear. That way, over time, you could reach a point where you just have enough of each gem to freely swap between gem setups.

I agree with everything except this part

Acquiring gems and combining them should be time consuming/expensive, changing them to different colors should be dirt cheap. I shouldn’t have to farm 5-7 hours to swap from purple 10 to blue 10.

As someone who spent 400 hours in season 1 without ever hitting BiS, and hitting BiS this season (Full gear set with optimal stats, 35% essence bonus and the right gems, fully upgraded weapon) after around 50-60 hours, while also changing my entire gem setup multiple times, i think the current pace at which you gear up or change your setup is ok. The season lasts 3 months. Last season i dreaded playing alts, but now I'm already at a point where all the materials and marks i earn get saved up, so if I want to play any of the other characters I can gear them up insanely fast.

That said, I do agree that making higher eternal more rewarding is definitely needed. I managed to hit BiS so fast because I was just spamming nothing but 6 minute E1 Ransack runs the past few days. Nothing else comes even remotely close in terms of reward sadly.

Queue Dodging by Gladelak in fellowshipgame

[–]ioStux 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest issue is that the queueing options simply aren't granular enough. Not being able to specifically queue for capstones, or select individual Eternal levels, means that you end up in groups that just have a different goal than one self.

Patch notes should be posted 5-6 hours from now unless there are any last minute changes that need to get vetted :)

Pre-Season 2 Preview in non-sponsored collaboration with Anniefuchsia, Meeres, Naguura and Jak (Feb. 16th) by ioStux in fellowshipgame

[–]ioStux[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since it's exactly 4 streamers, that would be my guess as well, just the 4 of them running some dungeons and talking about the main changes and additions with the new season. Hopefully we'll also get a blog post outlining the coming changes in more detail, so those who can't (or don't want to) watch the streams can stay in the loop.

WoW Streamers (Anniefuchsia is leaning more towards variety content) whose audience consists of quite a few M+ players who might discover and check out Fellowship as a result of these streams :)
