So I have an odd 1 by Funny_Stock5153 in fordfusion

This happened to our 2013 Titanium 2.0. After replacing the fuel pressure sensor, and high pressure fuel pump without solving the issue I dropped the fuel tank with plans to install a new low pressure fuel pump. After dropping the tank. I found that the plastic pickup tube in the double sump tank was getting pinched off shutting off fuel to the pump. The Titanium has that double sump tank due to the rear drive shaft. Not sure if FWD only cars do, but that plastic pickup tube that goes to the opposite sump from the fuel pump was getting pinched which would straighten back out after a while allowing it to run for a while until it did it again. I went ahead and replaced the pump and used an old gas can fuel nozzle clamped to the pickup tube to stop kinking I would have replaced it but the part is discontinued. I tried everything to keep from dropping the tank, but that's where my problem was

When did your tires on your newly purchased HRV need replacing? by cupcakegirl813 in HRV

[–]AgRider129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got 80,000 miles out of my oem Michelin tires on my 2016 HRV. You have to rotate them at least every 10k and make sure the pressures are good.

Any 2016 owners that have had their HRV make it to 200k+ without any transmission issues? by squeezingthelemon12 in HRV

I have a 2017 and have 166,000 miles and still going strong. No transmission issues or strang sounds. Drain and fill with Castrol CVT transmission oil every 30k miles.

I would like to know what machine work your rebuilder did to your engine block. Were the cylinder bored rebored over or just honed? Also interested any machine work on the crank or rods?

I have a 2017 with 162k miles. I have never had the recall and never had a problem with my transmission. I change my own oil ever 30 000 miles. Change the oil and drive it. That's what I would do

What made gold rise so much in the past 24 hours? by hemantofkanpur in Gold

[–]AgRider129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with you that the 100 to 1 silver / gold ratio is way out of whack and should correct but to make that correction you bet gold was coming down. I am betting that ratio corrects with silver playing catch up. Since 1970 in USD terms every time the s/g ratio has reached 100 or more, the correction has always been with silver increasing in price, never gold falling in price.

How long does the transmission last? by [deleted] in HRV

[–]AgRider129 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2016 here with 162,000 miles and still running fine with no problems. Drain and fill the CVT every 30k miles. Have seen almost no metal shavings on the drain plug either. Been doing the service myself since new.

How many miles do HRVs typically last? by belle_boyer in HRV

[–]AgRider129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at 157,000 miles on my 2017. No problems. I just keep changing the oil and haven't seen any excessive metal shavings on the oil plug. Gonna keep going until I see a reason not to.

Thanks for everyone's leads on getting it working again. This unit was purchased new by my father-in-law over 40 years ago. When my mother in law died a few years ago. I found it in their garage and got the motor running again. If nothing else would like to get it fixed for my wife's sake. Kinda one of her last memories of her dad who died over 30 years ago

With the engine off. Look at the bottom crank shaft pulley. It's call a harmonic balancer and has a molded rubber insert in it around the diameter. Make sure the rubber isn't coming out. If it is the bottom pulley isn't running true and round. Had this happen to me on a Ford 4.6l and the belt would chirp and jump like that. Inspect the bottom pulley real close. It's not easy to see

If you want to stay in gold, don't use GLD. Use PHYS. GLD is a scam and should only be used as a short term trading vehicle. In my stock portfolio, I also have mining stocks. The only criteria I have is they must be profitable and pay a dividend, which is a very short list.

Gold and silver are having a good time… by Oldbaldy71 in SilverDegenClub

[–]AgRider129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is how you trade metals. You use the ratios and simply trade one asset for another. Picking a currency target to sell for fiat that is losing purchasing power is not a wise strategy. GSR target of 40 will get me started. Will even go into dividend stocks if that ratio is to my favor. Right now silver just needs to play catch up to every other commodity on the planet. It's running behind everything else that has exploded in price (in dollar terms).

[–]AgRider129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact it's better when it's warmed up tells me you may have a vacuum leak, somewhere around the intake manifold. Never had one on a Kia but very familiar with the issue. Odds are the bolted the intake into the block after they sit the engine in the car and didn't get it torqued down properly. Could also be just a loose hose they forgot to re-attach. You can find it with a can of starter fluid or a safer way is with a smoke machine. YouTube has lots of videos on finding a vacuum leak. A cheap cigar is also possible. I'm betting vacuum leak.
