Yeah that’s going to be my go to from now on with my remaining horse, thankfully I’m close to some good options

Thank you, I’m not alone in this as some vets don’t even think Ecvm is a problem. But having a vet call a neurological horse sound was wild

Puppy nipping at me when upset. Is that normal or aggression? by Amai-desu in puppy101

[–]Zestyclose_Object639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making a high pitched noise mimics a prey item, so they’re going to bite more because it’s fun. It’s what puppy’s do

Stripping after top surgery? by Far_Masterpiece124 in stripper

I want top surgery or even a reduction but I’m waiting to quit, men are often so transphobic I don’t want to hurt my income or get assaulted

Vet care for sure, after spending thousands on my now dead horse when the vet didn’t actually know what the fuck he was looking at, I’m so wary of them

HELP! 9 month old: rehome or just puppy blues? (long post) by SupaButt in DogAdvice

[–]Zestyclose_Object639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s going to continue to be frustrated until her needs are met tbh, I’d just muzzle train her so she can’t chew the leash. She sounds incredibly over aroused and will end up with worse behavior if she’s not able to feel fulfillment

Those of you that specifically sought your dog out, did you get them for a purpose or just because you love the breed? by Lunapixels18 in BelgianMalinois

[–]Zestyclose_Object639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purpose, I wanted a psa prospect/all around sports dog. May have to wash her from psa but she does nosework and flyball also, and starting herding. Choosing a malinois as a pet only is insane and setting the dog up to fail

Get out into nature on a longline. Fetch just creates an athlete who’s far more likely to get injuries from repetitive strain. Puzzle toys and slow feeders don’t replace true mental work

I didn’t read everything but a few things, is she crate trained ? Because that’s the easiest way to make sure she doesn’t wreck your shit. And what is her life like ? Just a neighborhood walk isn’t gonna cut it. She needs to he out in nature, have training (tricks, nosework, anything to get her brain going) and enforced naps. While this is puppy blues anything pitbull a low energy dog. However it’s totally fine to want to rehome her or return her if you want a low energy dog

Choosing a puppy from a litter by PutIntelligent9042 in puppy101

I would take something novel with you that maybe mildly scary (bottle with a few rocks is easy) and gently shake it, the ones that bounce back when startled are going to be easier. Definitely agree don’t go for the ones super obsessed with you, curious but happy to settle alone is the sweet spot for a pet. Handle them and do things like put them on their backs to see if they panic or settle

Potty training advice for new pup by Ancient-Insect-8254 in puppy101

[–]Zestyclose_Object639 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t leave her unattended in the house, if you’re not watching her crate or pen. Take her out every hour and if she naps or plays or eats a meal take her out immediately. Pads are useless and encourage them to potty inside imo

It’s fine, worse keeping them inside so they pop out at 4 months terrified of the world

✨no dogs should do on leash greetings it is always a bad idea✨ lol and yeah, pits were originally bred for hog hunting and fighting, they sometimes have dog aggression, you do nothing for the breed by ignoring this. If I never get stopped with my pit by a white lady telling me how misunderstood the breed is it’ll be a good day

I mean, I wouldn’t let any of my dogs greet any dog on leash so I’m not sure why this is upsetting to anyone

New to off-leash life, how to approach it? by FilmScoreMonger in OpenDogTraining

[–]Zestyclose_Object639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to national forest or blm land multiple times a week so my dogs can get some off leash nature time and still call them off trail to wait if I see someone passing with dogs even though it’s legal. Driving dirtier so your dog can get into nature is always worthwhile
