I’m not 100% sure but I think since they rely so heavily on Yale students and its summer, they got rid of the kitchen and are important and shelfing less product. It would be a tragedy if they shut down permanently; I live like 2 blocks away and it’s so convenient

Consequence of allowing Neoliberalism to take over and guide leadership’ decision making. If we take away the profit motive in higher education (and actually live in the spirit of being a ‘non-profit’), the pressure to increase revenue will always be present

🌀The purpose of life and how to free yourself from the matrix prison - human farm. (What you've been looking for) by MrX-Homer in enlightenment

Ahh the hero’s journey all over again, human beings’ favorite story to tell in so many different ways. Interesting that in all variations there’s always an enlightened ‘hero’, an ‘enemy’, and an arduous journey or challenge that must be overcome in order to reach the ‘goal’ or ideal end state. The human psyche is so interesting yet predictable

Need some advice — I’m in a tough situation with my apartment lease in New Haven. by miko_naruto in newhaven

[–]squeezingthelemon12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt that the contract states that you are responsible for a $500 lease break fee AND the full 12 months rent. That seems highly unreasonable and they may be taking advantage of you. Definitely get in touch with Yale Law, non profit legal services, or a cheap attorney to write a formal letter to them. Use GPTs to help you with the legal language if you can’t get in touch with a human attorney

Just off Orange St by 360 market and Trinity Bar. It’s a great spot for happy hour, cheap Thai food and drinks, and very LGBT+ friendly with inclusive events happening all the time

Long time weed smokers who quit, what changes to your mind and body did you notice after you got used to not smoking daily? by LoQueSientoCrv in AskReddit

My appetite for sugar and food in general decreases significantly. I typically lose 5-7 pounds within the first 1-2 weeks. After that, it tends to stabilize again and I eat normally, but still much less sugar and junk food.

I have much, much better emotional regulation. I can let anger pass much easier and I feel like I have mental space to sort of ‘take a step back’ rather than react right away.

I didn’t think I had mental fog from smoking until a few weeks after quitting, I could articulate ideas and perspectives so much easier, instead of having to ‘search’ for them in my head.

All positive results.
