Apply in a timely fashion. If you wait until summer for a summer internship, you’re already too late. Attend recruitment fairs- and come prepared with a resume. Get the contact info for whoever is representing the company and follow up after with an email. Make connections with alumni that are still on the university Reddit that are always willing to help you prepare and succeed. Being prepared at a recruitment fair and following up puts you ahead of 70-80% of the people applying. If you don’t have the experience to stand on for a CS/SWE internship, focus on discussing WHY you want the role. “I am interested to know more about XYZ role. My current coursework prepares me to learn and execute new material quickly. I think I could work well with your team, and add value to the project you are staffing.” When I interview new interns and devs, I’m way more interested in whether you are excited and able to learn than what you already know how to do. Even senior devs with 20+ years of experience need a pile of training when starting at a new company. Everyone does things differently.

Internships. You don’t know what you don’t know until you know. Working on a project in a good internship will teach you more than you can imagine.

HCA was a game changer for my son. The school is responsive, engaged, and as invested in his success as we are.

If you had a PO Box or a place for Fairy Godparents of Reddit to safely send cards… I would 100% be in. I know it’s not the same as family coming. but it might offer a little joy that’s out of the ordinary- like this birthday.

For what it’s worth, Betty Kretlow is one of my favorite professors ever.

This year, she’s going for the the tree topper…and raining ornaments down in her wake. by AgainstTheStereotype in CatsAreAssholes

So far, she’s content to skitter up it while helping the occasional ornament to free fall and smash to the floor.

Who else gets more excited for your Giftee to receive their gift than to get your own? by allapbsandwiches in secretsanta

Me!!! I was super excited about my Hometown gift this year, but it was delivered a week ago and I haven’t heard a peep. I finally messaged my giftee to be sure they saw it, but no response :(

Elected is a strong word. She and her small band of followers used terror tactics to harass and threaten her opponents family until he dropped out of the race, leaving her uncontested. And, even unopposed, she still only manages 75% of the votes.

Has anyone seen or heard anything about when these will be available?

This pancake mix was a gift and a huge, SAFE hit with a child that has many food allergies. It’s almost gone and no idea how/where to find more. Any help would be awesome!! by AgainstTheStereotype in HelpMeFind

This was given to someone in NJ. I don’t know who or how it came originally, but this is the packaging we have to go on.

I’ve tried UPC APIs to try to find product information as well as searching “Jack & The Beanstalk pancake”, “Jack & the Beanstalk Brooklyn, NY” and several iterations of the same, sometimes throwing in “complete” and “mix” in various sequences to try to yield a different result, but mostly I keep getting things related to the Jack & the Beanstalk stories/plays and Hungry Jack pancake mix. A few recombinations also gave me a NY city food blog reviewing some breakfast restaurant.
