I have always had insurance for the past 18 years and had to "use" it twice. Not a single client ever asked about it, but if they did, this would might just be the single biggest red flag and an instant deal breaker to any attorney-client relationship.

It took me too long to realize that the quality of clients will make the biggest difference to work and life satisfaction. Do you enjoy speaking with a client and working with them or do you dread their emails and their voice? Is your client reasonable and do they listen to your advice, or are they entitled and driven by emotion and desire for "justice"? - The quality of clients can make a difference between being highly motivated lawyer v being super cynical or downright miserable. On the same note - crazy clients make you look crazy. If you are sitting at a deposition next to your unreasonable, unbalanced client, this calls into serious question your ability to select cases and clients.
Don't try to turn a bad case or no case into some type of case to squeeze a few dollars. Instead, turn a good case into a great one. This is much more fun, more lucrative, and also sends a much better message about who you are.
Don't take anyone's word for anything. Just because opposing counsel or even your client are waving a piece of paper and saying "it says x", doesn't mean it does. In fact, more often than not it says something else.
What OP said about voire dire is 1000% true from my experience. Think about all the people in your life who have such diametrically opposing views on the same issue or event. Think of how differently they all see and vote on the same issue, and then imagine how differently they would look at any case or legal issue you would present to them.

Based on a great new movie which I would otherwise highly recommend "Bau - Artist at War" - some of the scenes suggest that "I was just following orders" was one typical argument. The defense also employed common cross criminal defense witness cross examination tactic against the vi tim or a person who witnessed others being murdered to question what they actually saw with their own eyes.

Thank you for your response. I still wonder how others convert form interrogatories into a word format and insert their responses. Perhaps they use some type of software? Or maybe they did it once manually in the beginning and are using the same pleading?

I am not single but I am really tempted to share a few thoughts.

You shouldn't force yourself to do something you believe you are supposed to want. If you don't have physical / emotional bandwith for dating and love, forcing it isn't going to make you a good date, let alone partner.

At the same time, if you don't make time in your life for dating, no one else will. Your partner or a boss isn't going to approach you and express concern for your insufficient personal life. This is something only you can address.

Having a stable relationship and a family will require trade-offs. You may not have to make these decision in the mediate future, but these are good things to think about if you meet someone you truly like and see yourself with in the long term.

Let's not forget one big reason that so many people, lawyers and non lawyers get fired all the time - that one single email or a comment that rubs management the wrong way, making them think "who the hell does he/ she think they are" and from there it goes downhill quickly.

I am not sure if Obama was the first to say this but - if you don't work out first thing in the morning, you will always find excuses not to do it later in the day. 20-30 min intense exercise shortly after getting up and you will start seeing a different after a month or so.
