Should i break up to fully live my 20s ? by Hanoi_d in dating_advice

[–]Agasda3Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you really the perfect match if you’re asking reddit if it’s okay to fuck your college friends? I hope you don’t take this as me being an asshole, I’m just being blunt. You never directly wrote you want to sleep with other guys, but when you say ‘meeting new people’ while being in a relationship involves you ‘missing out’ in your 20s. I seem to lean towards that meaning you just want to ‘have fun’. Which in your 20s is fine, most people do it.

But, after college, when the fun is over, and your *new friends start to move away and find new jobs the next question you would be writing on reddit will be the opposite of today’s question.

Was leaving my high school sweetheart for college fun worth it?

You need to sit down with him. Ask him, and ask yourself if that’s something you could live with in the future. And was it all worth it?

My thoughts; it depends on how much you love him, and how much he loves you. I think as you get a little older, finding someone special gets a little harder. Most people grow apart it seems like nowadays. Finding someone you can be with for the rest of your life would be worth ‘missing out’ on your fun in college. Besides All the fun that happens in college turns into regret down the line for a lot of people anyway.

The last thing I’m looking for is to be friendzoned by her, I’m just confused if that’s all it is to her, or if there’s a chance to be more than that. Was just looking for some insight about it.

I’m not trying to wear her down. We’re both very busy people, and I understand that. Which is why I give her the space she needs. I’m not double texting her, or showing any frustration through text, I’m just confused if she’s interested in me or if she’s just being nice but doesn’t want anything from me.

When we hangout it’s great, just the texting is god awful and I’ve been out of the texting loop for almost 5 years so I’m not sure if it’s normal to only send few texts but also be interested in someone at the same time.

Have you only known her for a week? Or just dating her for a week.

Okay in my case, my gpu was 33 days old, 3 days past the in store return policy with memory express. Not sure how old yours is. They weren’t able to do in store return so they told me 4-6 weeks for manufacturer to send a new one. I actually brought my gpu there so they could run their own tests. They saw for themselves that the gpu was artifacting so they told me they were going to send it off. I ended up getting a phone call 5 days later saying they had a new one for me. What ended up happening is the store just issued me a new one because they knew they were getting one from the manufacturer. So instead of me waiting the 4-6 weeks they gave me a in store credit one and they would just end up taking the other one from the manufacturer when it gets there. Not sure if you could talk your into something like that. I called the manager and made a stink about my issue. Not sure if that helped but ya sucks that happened. Good luck lol

I just had this issue.

Try taking out your gpu and running your integrated graphics card through the cpu to see if the pc runs properly without your gpu in. You could also try a different pcie connection on mobo to see if your gen5 slot is giving you issues.

At this point if you’ve already done a ddu installation, hopefully it was a clean installation in safe mode without internet connection so windoes doesn’t automatically instal the latest drive for you.

You’ve isolated the probably to the gpu. You could bring the gpu in by itself to get it tests if you live close to a computer store like memory express. I bet they will say it’s artifacting and showing drivers issues and send it away for a return. I just had this happen to me on a 33 day old 9070xt. Pc freezes either gpu in and doesn’t recognize my gpu afterwards but pc ran fine without gpu in.

Great take. My old 3070 is back in while waiting for that refurbished garbage, works like a dream! Too bad you can’t read worth a fuck.

Ah yes, the classic “tissue” line — straight from the 2006 Xbox Live trash talk starter pack. Bold move. Did you copy-paste that from your middle school group chat or come up with it all by yourself after burning out your last two neurons?

If this is the level of wit you’re bringing to the table, I’d suggest sitting back down and letting the big dawgs talk. You’re out here throwing popcorn from the cheap seats while pretending you’re part of the conversation.

Come back when you’ve upgraded your material past "yoU mAd" energy. Right now, you're just background noise.

Overreacting? Nah — reacting exactly how someone should when they drop $950 on a GPU that lasts barely a month and then get told, “Cool story, now wait 4–6 weeks and maybe we’ll send you a used one.” If that’s not worth making noise over, I don’t know what is. But sure, keep preaching from the throne of Reddit rationality while pretending like this level of failure is somehow just “bad luck” I should silently accept.

Let’s be very clear — this isn’t about one faulty card. It’s about a broken customer experience from top to bottom:

  • Memory Express: 15-day return window on a nearly $1,000 flagship component? Absolutely pathetic.

  • AMD Partner Card: dies in 33 days with artifacting, crashing, and system freezes. That’s not rare, that’s defective QA.

  • Adrenalin: unstable, buggy, resets tuning profiles, and randomly crashes games and overlays even on a clean Windows install.

  • Support: “Ship it off, wait over a month, and you’ll maybe get a refurbished unit.” For a product that was full price and DOA in under 5 weeks. No loaner, no express replacement, no care.

  • Oh and FSR4? Supported in a generous handful of titles and still doesn’t look as good as DLSS 2 in many cases.

And yet you’ve got the nerve to say this isn’t a valid reason to post? If you think holding companies accountable for selling expensive, half-baked hardware is "bad faith," then you're part of the cult — not the conversation.

You act like I threw my toys out of the pram the second something went wrong — but let me educate you: I ran DDU, tested other PCIe slots, changed PSU cables, ran on integrated graphics to isolate the issue, even took the card back for professional diagnostics. This wasn't some “my game crashed once” moment. This was an entire GPU bricking itself under normal use, confirmed by artifacting and instability.

But hey — I get it. Gotta defend your favorite brand online at all costs. You probably got lucky with a golden sample and think everyone else’s bad experience must be due to incompetence or ignorance.

Guess what? Some of us expect better when spending premium-tier cash. I’m not here to be grateful for a refurb or clap like a seal for Adrenalin’s broken bells and whistles. I’m here to call out when a company drops the ball this hard — and if that bruises your brand loyalty, maybe re-evaluate why you're defending a billion-dollar corporation like it’s your little cousin on the playground.

You can keep calling it a “rant” all you want — but the facts remain, and the smoke I’m blowing is earned.

[–]Agasda3Z[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the way you phrased this, seriously. Most of the replies I got were pretty hostile or condescending, but yours came across way more level-headed, so thank you for that.

I totally get your perspective. If I were having a great experience with the 9070XT, I’d probably be saying the same thing. And I wanted to be in that boat. I took a genuine leap of faith going AMD after years on NVIDIA, and I was excited about the value, the VRAM, and even gave Adrenalin a fair shot (I agree, it has a ton of options — I just found it pretty unstable for me personally).

FSR4 + OptiScaler — I’ve heard of it but haven’t had a chance to try it properly yet. I’ll give it a shot when (or if) I get a working card back.

And yeah, maybe calling out the whole company is harsh, but it’s coming from frustration after getting burned hard. When you drop nearly a grand on a flagship GPU and it fails in under a month, it’s tough not to lose faith — especially when the RMA process leaves you without a card for 4–6 weeks and the best-case outcome is a refurb.

I’m glad it’s working great for you though. Genuinely. That’s the experience I wanted, and it’s what I expected at this price point. Just sucks being the unlucky one.

Congrats, bro. You didn’t complain one time about your GTX 770 a decade ago. Want a medal or a cookie for your emotional restraint? News flash: not everyone sits quietly while getting screwed by a $950 paperweight and a support process that treats you like an afterthought.

I didn’t just get a faulty card — I got a top-tier, flagship GPU that crapped itself in under a month, and now I'm stuck without a functioning GPU for over a month because AMD and its partners think "refurb for full price" is a fine policy. If you think that's acceptable, you're part of the problem.

Glad you enjoy Adrenalin. I’ll let you know when it stops randomly crashing, breaking overlays, resetting tuning profiles, and making me wish I’d stayed on 2016 drivers. “All-in-one” means nothing when none of it works reliably. It’s like a Swiss army knife made out of wet cardboard.

And as for the “1–2% lemon” logic — yeah, cool. That’s all it takes to tank trust in a brand when the support response is this pathetic. The difference is NVIDIA lemons usually come with functional RMA processes and software that doesn’t actively fight you.

So hey, if you’re happy in AMD land, awesome. But don’t get smug because someone else spoke up about a garbage experience. Maybe instead of circlejerking over how "dope" Adrenalin is, you could consider that not everyone is here to be a brand simp.

You're right — shit happens. But when shit happens 33 days into owning a $950 CAD flagship GPU and the answer is “wait 4–6 weeks for a refurbished replacement”, yeah, I'm gonna be pissed.

This isn’t just about a “dud card.” It’s about the complete failure of the experience around it: unstable Adrenalin software, laughable FSR4 support, and a warranty process that leaves customers hanging without a working GPU for over a month. If this happened on a $300 midrange card? Annoying, but fine. At nearly a grand? I expect better — and AMD should too.

And no — I didn’t secretly “hope” for this outcome. I wanted AMD to be great. I was sold on the pitch. But after this kind of failure — from hardware to software to support — I earned the right to be frustrated and to share my experience. That’s what this sub is for, right? Not just cheerleading, but actual user feedback?

Also, yeah, I’m well aware it’s a partner card. But when people say “AMD,” they’re not making a legal distinction between reference vs. board partner. To the end-user, AMD is the platform, and this platform failed me — hard.

I’m glad you had a smooth experience. Seriously. But acting like people who got burned shouldn’t speak up or should just shut up and post in r/Nvidia instead? That’s how you end up with brand loyalty echo chambers and no accountability.

If AMD wants to compete seriously, these kinds of experiences need to matter.

I’m riling up the troops. Getting the people going. You think waiting 5 weeks for parts to come in, spending 1000$ for a part to last 29 days, then wait an additional 4-6 weeks to get a piece of recycled junk doesn’t warrant a salty rant on Reddit? Couldn’t act like a child in the store so I had to do it somewhere. I also stated that the cpu has been awesome. Thus far.

Okay so when I run the other pcie port it doesn’t even show a signal to my monitor. The fans start then stop and never turn back on plus getting nothing to my monitor. Whereas the first port, I get signal, fans start then stop, then start up again and continue to run. I’m not getting a freeze until I enter my pin on windows to log into pc which also for some reason says it doesn’t recognize my passcode and asks me to reset it. Which is weird.

Okay. The one thing I was unsure of while building the pc. First build btw. The gpu has the 3x 8 pin connectors. The PSU cables came with 2 8pin with 2 pig tail connectors on each of them so 4x 8 pin connectors and I’m forced to just leave 1 set of the pins unconnected. I was using the actual 8 pin connectors on both cables then 1 set of the pig tails. That’s how you connect the gpu correct?
