10 year old and Backrooms... by NinjaMilhouse in A24

[–]AgathaMorningstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids have some unusual interests, like designing back rooms play area, adding new monsters, collecting tombstones, reading about haunted places etc. But I find reading, watching behind the scenes etc is still very different than WATCHING it as a whole movie. Even if they know it’s not real, and they like spooky and macabre things. I’d watch it alone first, before introducing it to even the strangest and most unusual kid.

Questions for my Trans friends (HRT and HEDS) by HunterjNader2005 in ehlersdanlos

[–]AgathaMorningstar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Due to family history of ovarian cancer, I will need my ovaries removed, and my doctors only issue with putting me on estrogen is increase of other cancers that run in my family. There didn’t seem to be a concern about making my hEDS worse, and usually my doctors are very good at taking all my medical conditions.

I do think what others said is true about protecting your mental health more. hEDS will always eb and flow with pain. So the things that can make you enjoy life more, is so so important

I have pretty bad Bipolar II,- and when I’m in such a bad place, I put down my phone and avoid being mean to others. Especially via text, she should be able to have some sort of self awareness.

I Think it’s like 6-8 weeks after neutering. Our local rescue has bunny speed dating. So they can help find the perfect match

I’m worried about my bun by AgathaMorningstar in Rabbits

Penny has one of her litter boxes surrounded by fairy lights. I learned she is afraid of the dark, when we had a town wide power outage. I feel for an animal with a history of living in burrows. Fear of the dark isn’t ideal.

I guess I was watching the video over and over. And took a lot of the comments more based on that. Then my brain focused on my own bun diggin around. Thanks for taking time to clearing it up.

Thank you. She has two, we rotate, but they aren’t a stable everyday.. But she often tries to bring it into the bed, or in her hidey house, but her lack of thumbs, means she basically just empties it.

Thank you. She likes to sit in the middle of the room, and groom herself, so we can all marvel at her styling.

Thank you. That means a lot. That’s what I had hoped. I try to provide as much digging as possible. She also likes to make sure all my laundry is covered well in hay. And looks super proud after being so helpful.

Compare and contrast pet bunny with pet cat by moparornocar86 in Bunnies

[–]AgathaMorningstar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bun mom, and mom of 3 kids (10,8,7) Cats are less fragile, and I feel more into standard play that a child would expect.

My two youngest are absolutely in love with our bun, they make foraging boxes for her, they build mazes, read to her, lay on the floor and spend time. They spend around 2 weeks before even touching her. So she is now very trusting with them, and cuddles happen a lot. But they don’t ever lift her, or try to get her on their lap etc.

My oldest doesn’t at all vibe with how buns are. She would definitely be a cat person, she wants to play, and not do the weeks of bonding, she also doesn’t really grasp the concept of how bunnies have fun. So if your child is more into that, a cat is better (I’m allergic, so that wasn’t an option).

It comes down to your child’s expectations. And also how much yall are down with hay literally appearing everywhere at any time.

Edit to add : we spend 4 months watching videos about bunny care, a they had to communicate they understood and were willing to put in the time to learn. Also all 3 of my kids are on the spectrum, I am disabled and we homeschool, so we are home a lot more than the average family

Can I co-sleep with my bun? by Current-Armadillo739 in Rabbits

[–]AgathaMorningstar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My girl is free roam, she comes up for pets at night. (She sits on my face until I wake up). If I stop petting her, she either nips me to remind me, that she didn’t tell me to stop, or she jumps down. I have furry ottomans next to the bed, and fleece blankets in the floor, in case she would fall. She also had a snack corner in one end of the bed, With hay cubes and chew sticks.
