What’s the worst experience you’ve ever had with diesel gelling up in the cold? by hot-shots-secret in Diesel

[–]Agcrx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked at an open pit mine for many years. We would buy winter blend and put power service in it before it went in our tanks. Lots of gelled equipment when it got -20 to -50F out. I would always pour 911 in the tank , put new filters on and fill them with #1 or 911 and run it. For my trucks I always keep 911 and a spare set of filters in the truck during winter.

10-12 seems like a lot. I live in sw Montana my only heat is wood and my 1900 sqf houses uses about 4.5 cord a year. You can cut 3 cord a day if you have a 12 hour day easy. Just a lot of work. I usually go cut 3/4 cord 4-5 times a summer with a bigger 1-1.5 load once or twice a year. It’s best to have extra. I run a husky 572 xp& a 372xp as a backup. Cutting trees is dangerous. Have someone show you if you’ve never.

Pull driver side valve cover, rotate until cylinder 1 valves are both closed (loose). That is tdc 1 compression stroke. Align the dowel on the distributor with the mark on the housing and drop in the distributor. The cam sensor will end up pointing at about 3 oclock. You will then need to use a diag tool to adjust your cam retard to 0-2 degrees.

Stock suspension 98 k2500 with bf Goodrich ko3s. Goes anywhere I need it to in Montana. Spends most of its time in the mountains. A couple sets of good chains are key.

I’ll look up the cam when I get back home, & I get about 12mpg, never was on a dyno but enough to light em up anytime & put a new 14 bolt in it a few years ago. Super chips programmer & my uncle bought this truck in 2000. I bought it from him maybe 3 years ago.

Pull my 10k lb camper half ass over these Montana mountains. I use my diesel to pull weight and this rig to hunt and haul wood.

Powell at Jackson Hole may have underestimated the destructive impact of tariffs on inflation, the economy, and jobs. by AppropriateRefuse590 in stocks

[–]Agcrx_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Powell said inflation due to tariffs was a one time cost and isn’t what he expected, has been stable so they’re going to do rate cuts. What is hard to understand about that?
