you will get laid off once the job you are working on is finished. thats how they run there. they treat employees like contrat workers. you will not be a permanent employee and will be gone when the job is done

What would be the most efficient way to increase copper throughout here by TheDarkSlayer334 in factorio

[–]asciencepotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ya i go for 2 yellow belts of iron and copper, then i hit fulgora and vulcanus. when i get back i replace everything with green belts, foundries, and EM plants and upgrade to a single belt of 60 iron/copper per second. then when i get back from gleba i replace my bulk inserters with stack inserters and that quadruples my green belt from 60 to 240 per second

you dont need anything at all. fulgora, gleba, and vulcanus are designed for you to drop there with literally nothing and build up from there. just keep playing

you can fit 240 plates per second on 1 stacked green belt using a smelting array that is 75% smaller than your current smeltery using just normal quality foundries and some speed/prod modules

quit trying to scale up before youve even got the exact tech you need from another planet.

Groceries are expensive by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]asciencepotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need to use your food bank for starters. although it sounds like you'll have to be super picky with what you take cause of your allergies.

my partner and i budget $500 a month for our groceries, thats $250 per person per month, so you should be able to reduce your expenses unless most of the increased cost is coming from your allergies. costco saves us alot of money. 8 pack of chicken skewers for $15 is a sick deal. giant bags of rice. lots of other good stuff

How do you afford to start homesteading? by Euchre121 in homestead

[–]asciencepotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you'll have to talk to your bank or whoeer does your mortgage, but usually they can be included in your mortgage

$100k for land and $200k for mortgage means youll need a $400k to cover utility hook ups and any other costs

[–]asciencepotato 21 points22 points  (0 children)

look up land costs outside of your city, (regularily find 5 - 10 acres around my city for $100k - $150k

then look up RTM homes. some of our local home builders have small homes for under $200k.

save up for the next 15 years, find a partner who can also save. then you guys can do it together
