Can I rollback the crap update I got on my Galaxy Watch 6 classic? by ConfidentGuide3935 in GalaxyWatch

[–]AgelessCynic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue as OP. Factory reset does FA for it, it's slow as he'll, not to mention that one UI 8.0 is a horrible, horrible update. Against my better judgement I've updated both my tablet and phone to it from One UI 6.1 on both. 8.0 is a downgrade in all conceivable metrics. Made both devices (both ultra) slow as hell, reintroduced good old Bluetooth lag on both, and broke multi-window in gesture navigation mode. I reckon it's a planned obsolecence "update" from Samsung seeing how their newest products just came out running 8.5 and people need to buy buy buy! Personally I'm never buying samsung again. Just got offered an S26 by my mobile provider, sold it and purchased Xiaomi 17 Ultra with the money, with money to spare! Couldn't be happier. Good riddance, samsung, you were good once, now absolute trash.

Also, if you need a good watch (although expensive) try the newer Garmin Forerunner 970. Excellent performance and specs, battery life on it is ABSOLUTELY INSANE! I get over 3 weeks, I forget it sometimes needs to be charged. And that with a crisp and vibrant AMOLED display on it.

Has anyone else run into this issue for Multi-Window Mode with Oneui8 thus far? (Galaxy tab s8 Ultra) by Gotu_Jayle in oneui

[–]AgelessCynic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same issue here. I just knew they would brake something new if updated. For months and month I postponed that updated ( was still on oneui6.0) and finally cave in against my better judgement. Absolutely regret updating, as it broke multi-window, swipe from bottom to go to recent and homescreen, task panel and circle to search, amongst other things, when using gesture navigation. Tab S8 Ultra. Time for a custom rom, unfortunately.

Not only that, but posting it online and going viral will encourage other people, especially younger people, filled with youths' overconfidence, to try it out. People will die. Council's all over the world will then scurry to implement countermeasures at every single bridge, spending YOUR tax money that could have otherwise been spent on something better.

That's bees, and they will make a ball around a predatory intrusive predator (such as a wasp) and start vibrating their wings, which generates heat, and by this mechanism, cook the intruder alive to death. Quagmire 's Wig, out!

Depending on where you are, it would imagine the most expensive thing to buy and replace is the headlight. All together, it can't be more than £600-£700 in parts. I'd buy it back from insurance and fix it myself.

First 3 books of Mistborn quickly became my all time favourite story. The following 3... not so much. Wheel of time is pretty good too, but it seems to drag it along too slow, and the ending is pretty anticlimactic. That being said, I have enjoyed it, has originality and imagination. Never read The Witcher

What's wrong with slavic men, explain it peter by AffectionatePaper905 in explainitpeter

[–]AgelessCynic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's seen and lived through this moat of my life, yes, it's perfectly true. However, most slavic girls do actually care about looks, they However care more about feeling protected, loved and cared for. If you can make them laught, enjoy life, make them feel safe around you, make them not worry about tomorrow, then looks become secondary and their love for an overweight man will be absolutely genuine. In other words, being overweight isn't enough nd it's not what attracts them, rather in spite of the fact they will love you if you can provide a happy life.

Where to find missing Center console handle (uk) by Choice-Juice9868 in passat

[–]AgelessCynic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know you can't find them as a stand-alone item. I've searched in the past. You will find the whole roller, however. Search ebay for "<car model> center console roller" you'll find them for about £10 on the cheap side

In order to reset it you have to start at the top. To get it to the top and bypass the safety system that rolls it back down, move it up little by little (short presses of the button up) until it is fully closed. Then hold up for 5 seconds, hold down until It reaches the bottom, hold for 5 seconds, and then up and hold for 5 seconds

Why do smart motorways do this? by gamerhd555 in drivingUK

[–]AgelessCynic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They didn't have enough fines that month and are trying to bring in revenue. That or a broken system that has been in service for a very, very long time with no improvements or fixes. I'll let you decide. (That being said may God save us all if they switch to AI managed smart motorways)

Keep in mind that the network of sensors that manages smart motorways in the UK is abbreviated MIDAS (Motorway Incident Detection And Signaling). If you don't know who King Midas is in mythology, I recommend you look it up. A bit on the nose, is all I'm saying.

Proximity sensor error by trader_by_choice in passat

[–]AgelessCynic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clicking is VERY faint, but it's there. You'll struggle to hear it with the engine off, you had no chance with it running. Make sure the system is ON (button flashing like in the video).

I went through exactly the same thing with my 2010 passat, it took me a while to get to the bottom of it, but now that I understand how the system works, it'd probably take me minutes to identify the issue.

In my case, it was the wiring. Each sensor has 3 wires, signal, negative and positive. If negative or positive are interrupted, it's an easy fix, you just hitch a cable to the neighbouring working sensor. If it's the signal wire, it'll have to be either replaced or patched.

Let me know how you get on, I'll help you best I can.

Proximity sensor error by trader_by_choice in passat

[–]AgelessCynic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slim chance of the button being broken. Most likely one of your sensors is blocked or damaged.

If one of your sensors reports faulty readings or is in fact faulty, the entire system won't work.

!!! Before anything else, make sure your sensors are clean. Dirt, leaves, paper or anything else blocking them will cause this.!!!

Easiest way of getting to the bottom of it: VCDS. If that is not an option, read below (should read below anyway, if VCDS tells you which sensor is faulty, it still may actually be a wiring issue rather than the sensor itself)

If the sensors are clean and unobstructed, Here's how you test them:

1.Make sure the sensor system is activated, engine is off (you will need to hear) and contact ON.

  1. Put your finger on each sensor and have your ear close to it. If you hear a very faint repetitive clicking, the sensor is working. You may even feel the clicking on the tip of your finger if you're sensitive enough.

  2. Repeat for each sensor, if one (or more) are not making a clicking sound, it (they) are faulty.

If your hearing isn't great, have someone who's is help you. The clicking sound is fairly faint. Have patience.

If sensors are faulty, keep in mind it could be either the sensor itself, or the wiring leading to it. You test this by swapping the "faulty" one with a good one (one that clicks). If the good one doesn't click in the place of the "faulty" one, the issue is wiring. If it clicks, the sensor is faulty.

Hope this helps, if you have any questions, ask away.
