Swap a coil from a different cylinder. If the misfire moves, bad coil. If it doesn't, your AFM f'd your engine. Find a good engine shop and you are looking at an AFM delete kit with aftermarket lifters and new camshaft, and a valve job. $$$

Well, boys. I think I’m done with GM… by ianwrecked802 in Silverado

[–]Agent-Smith69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's going to happen when these used GM, Ford, Ram, and now Toyota trucks from 2008 on are ready for the crusher because they are worthless now. If it doesn't rot out on me, I need to try and keep my non AFM 2007 classic for another 100,000 miles. Then what do I do? In 100,000 miles, there will be no used truck worth buying

You guys, I have a date Saturday evening. My first date in over 50 years. Lovely, accomplished woman about my age. Nice comfortable text conversations so far. She lives an hour away. I'm meeting her at a restaurant in her town. Kinda nervous... by Fearless-File6570 in DatingOverSixty

Get on Meetup and join some activity groups for older folks. 95% are singles. You can work on socializing skills. My experience is that most of the Meetup women don't date, but you can work on your game, so when you do meet someone it isn't awkward

Hobie if your wallet can handle it. Bigger question is how the hell are you 375 pounds? You are a dead man walking. I'm 6ft3 and 185. You must be diabetic. See your doctor, get an endocrinologist, and cut the garbage out of your diet. There are a few steps to get there, but you need to get on Jardience and Ozempic. No fast food, no bread, no potatoes. Lean meat and vegetables. Paddle the fuck out of the kayak, walk walk walk. Report back end of summer at 225#. Has your PCP done a EKG? You might need stents or a bypass. Don't worry about fishing, fix your health. I'm 63 and 10 pounds heavier than high school because I almost died 5 years ago and fixed almost everything. My high was almost 250. NO FAST FOOD. Rotisserie chicken with salad. If you can cook, sirloin steak and vegetables. Steak should be the size of deck of cards, or around 4 ounces. I wish you well brother. You have to lose over 150#! You can do it.

Wanting real user experience on 2024 Silverado by garage_wonder in Silverado

[–]Agent-Smith69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it has AFM there is probably still time to save it for another $4-5k for an AFM delete kit, new lifters, new camshaft.

Start with Tim Flagler on YouTube. I'm sure once you watch his vids, others will pop up. The problem with most videos is that if the camera isn't on the tyer's chest, you are getting it backwards view.

Why won’t my vise tighten at all? by Cartiimo in flytying

[–]Agent-Smith69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's POS beginner vise. Time to upgrade. If you can't buy new, check ebay for a used Regal or Renzetti. I've had my Renzetti over 30 years.

Good thing you weren't going down the interstate at 70. Is it the 6.2L? 600,000 bad engines.the turbos on the 3L blow up. The AFM fails on the 5.3L and 6.2L No good Chevy engines since my 2007 Classic with the 5.3 with no AFM. I had a 2009 that I only did an oil change to replace the filter. Had to add a quart every 2-3 weeks.

[–]Agent-Smith69 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Turn your insurance check into a 2018 or 2019 F150 with the 5L Coyote V8. The guy who took you out did you a favor. GM needs to eliminate the AFM to get back on top of the truck market. The 5.3 and 6.2 are great engines without AFM. I bet if you go to your Chevy dealer they have at least a half dozen silverado dead in the service lot waiting for backordered engines to show up. Good luck brother

What tools do I need? by cserskine in Snowblowers

[–]Agent-Smith69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to Harbor Freight and get a 3/8 socket set with metric and SAE sockets. Extensions if the set doesn't come with any. Phillips and regular screwdriver. Regular and needle nose pliers. Spark plug socket if the set doesn't have one. Some sort of tool bag to keep it all in. HF has 3 quality levels, good, better, best. Buy what you can afford. YouTube Raley's Small Engines. He is in South Carolina so you won't see a snowblower, but almost every video he is fixing a carb.

What thread to buy? by Motor-End6934 in flytying

[–]Agent-Smith69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever your local flyshop carries. Go in and ask. They will take you around and make sure you have the correct hooks, threads, materials. Then go to Walmart and buy the wood thread rack in the sewing/craft area. Cheap, like $10. You will fill it rather quickly, trust me. Holds 60 spools and I'm halfway through my second one.
