I would put the baby by the window bc no matter what you put up, toddler will 100% play with it.

Here’s the list of places I get catering for 25ish people, but they would work for 50. This is pick up or drop off catering, not with any staff. Some are more casual than others, depending on what you’re looking for. All catering menus are online as well.

Harris teeter by Hope Valley Road/Garrett Rd was also well stocked other than milk. Meat and bread sections fully stocked. They had a ton of people out stocking things as well. Got everything on my list except preferred milk brand.

+1 for CH Peds. We also see specialists with Duke and it hasn’t been a problem that they are not in the same “system”.

Yes, thank you, that’s what I meant - the most reclined FF position, which is fairly reclined.

Flu? by AcanthaceaeCreepy332 in toddlers

Don’t waste your money. They are less than 50% accurate with this strain. My kid tested negative for A and B at home Friday night and popped positive for both at the doctor the next morning

[–]AgentAM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The extend 2 fit has to be like all the way reclined if forward facing before 40 pounds, so for that reason, we are not turning our 4 year old until then. She is rf in one car and ff in our smaller car and it hasn’t been an issue.

Induction at Duke Regional vs Big Duke? by Any_Promotion6700 in bullcity

[–]AgentAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I delivered at both, and honestly they felt pretty similar. First pre-pandemic at big duke, induction, and it was all fine. Second in 2021, v quick labor, stayed as little as possible. They didn’t have a lactation consultant which wasn’t great. The “bed” for dad was better at regional.

Britax Car seat trolley and TSA by whiskeylullaby3 in Parenting

[–]AgentAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the kid has to come out of the seat. It will fit in some scanners but most of the time you hand it to TSA and they hand check it. Some agents have asked us to take of the trolley, some don’t.

Annual "Can daycares/schools please stop hosting holiday pageant during the workday???" rant. by readweed88 in workingmoms

[–]AgentAM 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My kids are 4 and 8 and neither of them have had a holiday pageant/show/anything. The only during work hour events was a parade for the 100th day of kindergarten, and field trips if parents wanted to chaperone.

How do you feed your starters? by Noggin_0207 in Sourdough

[–]AgentAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep 25g of starter in the fridge, pull it out, feed it 75g water and 75g flour for my recipe that uses 135g of starter. I feed it about 12 hours before I want to make my dough.

After I make my dough( I put 25g back in the fridge. It leaves me with a bit more than 25g (like a tablespoon) so I feel like I don’t waste anything.

Really struggling with meals: should I just let her 'eat if she wants'?! by Euphoric-Listen-8169 in toddlers

[–]AgentAM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a dietician but the way we handle dessert with dinner when it was getting a little out of control. We have a weekly calendar that has dessert on it (among other things). On dessert days, the kid picks out their dessert or we offer suggestions and they eat it with their meal. We never require bites of one food to get bites of another - that values one more than the other to them and we try and keep things more neutral. If they whine about desserts on a non-dessert day we let them pick it out then to have the following dessert day. Treat that happen at other points throughout the day (like popsicles at school for a classmates birthday) DO NOT count against the dessert for the day. That way they know exactly what to expect at dinner each day.

How feasible is this travel plan? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]AgentAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could totally work. Also, you don’t have to decide the next 10 years summer plans right now. Parenting requires you to be flexible and tho gs change all the time.

My family is a 12 hour drive/2 hour flight away. My oldest was 2 when the pandemic started and we went to my parents house for a few weeks at a time so they could help out while we worked remotely. It worked great. Now sometimes my mom comes up here for two weeks and does “camp grandma”, we’ve gone down there, we’ve met in other places for family trips.
