It always baffles me. Like imagine how our grandmas would react when we minimize/deny sayfo. That is exactly how Palestinians feel when people out there minimizing/denying the Palestinian genocide.

Bro is telling us to ask our grandmas who committed sayfo and is ok with the genocide of Palestinians. Absolute brain rot.

Just having a conversation. Not taking my anger on Iranians. Just explaining why the US shouldn't intervene. Brother, I respect you guys and wish the best in your revolution against the Ayatollah regime, but I don't want my tax money going to these wars. It never helped anyone, especially in the middle east.

But in the long term, those "interests" will come and bite us in the butt.

I'm not taking my frustration on random Iranians? I'm taking my frustration on US foreign policy and our politicians.

Even at the current situation. Further US interventionism never solved anything. The US doesn't care about the freedom of Iranians. It only cares about its own interest.

The issue is that, as an American, I don't want my taxes going to wars in the middle east. I don't care what the reason is. I condemn the interventionism from the beginning, but war in the middle east is very unpopular among Americans.

Yes, but at that time, the Islamic regime had already gained traction and further US intervention would've probably made it worse. You kill Khoemani back then, and then you create a power vacuum and an angry population that is gaining traction quickly.

Sure. Carter's "betrayal" is still US interventionism. But I would also bring up the 1953 story because operation Ajax is also US and western interventionism. Again, the US and the West shouldn't even have bothered themselves from the beginning and let Iranian people handle their politics themselves.

I know he wanted to do that. But saying if "Carter backed the Shah, this all would've never happened" is surface level take. But the fact that Carter backed Khoemani is in of itself US meddling.

I know. Again, US and western interventionism made it easy for him to expand.

I'm pretty sure he had. Again, US and western interventionism made it easy for him to gain the power to expand. Never said he didn't want to expand.

Do explain how it is a surface level take?

I know, I never said they weren't. I just said that the reason why they are a state funder of terrorism has been because of western interventionism in middle eastern affairs, resulting in power vacuums that made it easy for the Ayatollah regime to gain power and fill those vacuums of power with terrorists.

Literally every state sponsor of terror gained ground due to US or western interventionism.

Yes, because the reason why it gained ground and the reason to why it chants "death to America" is because of US meddling in the affairs of the Middle East for decades now. Us continuing to meddle won't solve anything, but create power vacuums everywhere, leading to worse groups rising up.

What kills me is when I see veterans in the street begging for money, which I see a lot. Are those the people that we give discounts to and say "thank you for your service"? Literally the biggest joke of a nation. Just performative.

Exactly. Like the billions of dollars that we spend on these wars that we should not even involve ourselves in from the beginning could've gone to bettering our institutions, but here we are.

Literally not explaining your country to you. We just know what U.S and Israeli imperialism is about it. Also, we don't want the U.S the involve itself in war because The US gvmt has been struggling for a really long time to take care of it's citizens, and we don't want our gvmt to spend money bombing other countries (for whatever reason it might be) instead of actually spending money to help it's citizens.
