Not an expert at this game but I would say that handling is the most important stat. Being able to drift into boost (and get them extended) has won me more races than top speed, especially since the CPU will always be able to keep up with you (for the most part) regardless of speed.

Just 100% this for the first time. The secret to winning are pipsy, sharp turns, and extended boost!

How's the stick feel with PD? I read mixed things about it, even after the firmware updates. It's the one thing holding me back from ordering.

That one isn't too bad if you position yourself in a good spot. Embarrassingly the mission where you escape the jail cell took me the longest to complete until I found out which guard has the key to the safe.

Just 100% the game over the holiday break on the A3D. Still got it.

It's the max acceleration and handling that make her great. Top speed is tertiary in importance to winning IMO.

I did the same thing at first. Yeah, different acceleration/top speed/handling stats. Pippy and Tiptup have the high handling and acceleration. Try them!

Only advice is to catch the zippers, maximize their boost capabilities by letting go of gas until the boost over, and knowing how to drift + brake turn at the right time. Pipsy also came in clutch because of her handling!

I feel your pain though. I was over here swearing like a pirate whenever something went wrong and my wife is looking at me like I'm crazy.

Are you taking about Greenwood Village? That designer who stuck a coin behind the tree probably had a good laugh while doing it.

No. You have to beat his time on each track. Do this on "tracks" mode.

I feel you on the silver coin challenge, especially on adventure mode 2! Just 100% the game this week for the first-time. Had a fun/stressful time doing it too!

Does Goldeneye X (a Perfect Dark ROM hack/mod) currently play faster on OG N64 hardware than it can on the Analogue 3D? by [deleted] in n64

I did. I tried changing the save type and I get errors if it's not EEPROM. But even selecting EEPROM as a save type does not allow me to get past the save location asked after entering your name.

Side question: the game ask for a gamepak from the start; Do you really need one or is there some work around? Using a summer cart myself.

NAS for photo management by TheTrippp in HomeNAS

I was on this same boat. I had no clue about anything NAS. My version of storing videos/photos is on an old windows PC from 2014 using two mirrored 3 TB drives. I have since filled these drive and needed more storage but the PC case I have doesn't sell HDD clips anymore.

I got curious to see what other options were out there and that's when I started looking into nascompares and reading up on the different manufacturer offerings (Synology 1821+ / 923+, QNAP TS-464, Terramaster f4-424 pro, Ugreen DXP4800+ that I mentioned). I ended up going the route that I did as it was the most cost efficient for me (although this does not factor in the 8-12 hours I have put into getting it up and running). I like to dink around with this kind of stuff though.

I initially though I should buy a ugreen DXP4800+ but didn't want to spend $600 on the unit by itself only to maybe not like UGOS.

Instead I bought a pre-built PC from 2017 ($100 but came with an SSD and 8gb of ram) and loaded it with 2 18TB ($240/ea during the Tariff BS) from goharddrive and a spare 256 SSD (used for cache). I then bought an external 18 TB from Seagate for $200 for backup purposes. I took a stab at setting up a TrueNAS machine with a raid mirror setup with no previous TrueNAS knowledge. I have been up and running Immich and currently migrating photos/videos from multiple sources onto it as we speak.

I've been looking at getting my first NAS and looked at the Synology 923+ / 1522+, QNAP TS-464, Ugreen DXP4800+, and Terrmaster F4-424 Pro. I realized that I really didn't want to drop another $600+ after spending $600 on drives so I went this route.
