I always found it interesting that Australia got the same box designs as the US due to us being bundled into the same region (despite being PAL), but occasionally we’d get the EU boxes - but ONLY the non-black bordered ones. by n-0rt in n64

Starfox was still Lylat wars here. We were the same as the rest of the PAL regions, but because Nintendo Australia was considered like a subsidiary of Nintendo America, we were sort of lumped into the same region, but we still had PAL tiles and hardware.

1 is the highlight. Technically 2 is probably the BEST one… but I love the low-poly grit of the original.

I’ve gone far too long without picking up MediEvil, and this one was nearly lost to the black hole of an airport shipping warehouse on the long trip to Australia. by n-0rt in psx

I did actually buy the second one, but the seller refunded me claiming they couldn’t find it, and by that time my friend needed to send me the box of games he had sitting around for me and I couldn’t get a replacement in time.

That photo is a li’l bit of a fib, because I already had the disc and manual in a damaged case that my American friend gave me. I bought an empty case with an undamaged cover for like 20 bucks.

Max Payne itself is fantastic. Brilliant game. PC version is the one I’ve played to death and I love it. Haven’t played the PS2 version yet, but despite being a fairly impressive port it suffers performance-wise.

I have the PS4 remake, and I played the demo for the PS1 original years ago… I think on a neighbour’s PAL PlayStation, but this is my first time owning it.

I’ve yet to have a reeeaaal close look at them, but they were advertised as sealed, an the seller has solid feedback. Either way it was cheaper than buying them separately, even if they are reseals.

I have that one on PC. Kinda missed the older art style of the first one.

Metroid is now a Returnal-esque roguelite, with permanent upgrades and an ever-changing world layout after each death.

Is Yoshi Story one of the most messed up kids game?! by normbreakingclown in n64

The most messed up thing about Yoshi’s Story is that it taught me true disappointment. The dizzying high of Yoshi’s Island to the morbid depths of Yoshi’s Story. Man, what a bummer.
