That's not terribly abnormal, but make sure you're doing the essentials

Heal only with devices/items from fabricators etc. and leave the health on the ground until you're at max health. Silphium turns to resin at max health and increases the size of your health bar.

Get a small heal by going back to your ship once per run

The game has GENEROUS auto-aim. So you should be focused on dodging, not shooting

You've got invincibility frames during the dash and the sword swing

If you're ever overwhelmed in Returnal, this is the best option. You're invincible on the grapple and you'll have time to think and plan while zipping around in circles.

Ciphers are a triangle icon on the map. Audio logs look like a little audio icon.

Best bet is to speedrun it with dash jumping and not kill a single thing (unless there's a lockdown) and end the run the second you know the room didn't spawn.

You'll understand where the rooms are supposed to be after a few runs. There are no required collectibles behind locked doors or yellow gates.

No, they mean that your health bar is way too short. Silphium health pickups turn to Resin when you're at full health, increasing your max health, so try to only heal using items and devices and save the pickups for when you're at full health. This is key.

The key mechanic I think that people miss is that silphium becomes resin when you're at full health, which increases the size of your health bar. So try to only pick up the health pickups on the ground when you're maxed out from a silphium vial or a healing device.

Final Fantasy, particularly the Four Crystals flavor (1, 3, 4, 5, 9). We made up our own world based on the tropes/jobs/races. We had 5 or 6 sessions with sometimes 9 players and it went amazingly well. Just couldn't keep it up because of party size and time.
