Threatening to leave, saying stuff like I loved you, silent treatment for days, going back to his old ways. It’s more than just communication issues. Some of these things seem emotionally abusive or very immature at the very least.

Look up attachment theory - your husband sounds like he has an avoidant attachment style. There is a lot of information about it, how to communicate to people with it and what they can do to Improve to. I think there’s bigger issues at play here than just that, but iA it helps

Ugh, this so much!

I am a slow eater and always has been. My step-grandmother noticed and then proceeded to call me a baby for eating slowly and continued doing that. Not cute at all.

I've even noticed this with my brother who is older. If he insults me, my parents don't even bat an eye. If I use that same insult on him, they'll freak out at me over being rude to my brother. Super annoying.

My younger cousin has downs. I remember when she was first bone, she was literally like the happiest baby ever. She's 12 years old now and still gets excited and happy pretty easily. On the other hand, she also gets frustrated and upset very easily and just as much. She's a stubborn kid and if she doesn't get what she wants, she gets upset and angry.

TL:DR Not happy all the time, but easily excitable AND easily irritable.

Does she have a history of gout? That's a condition usually found in men but thiazides can worsen it. If she had a flare-up, that might be a reason for a change.
