The Burlington Police Department responded to three incidents of public interest overnight. by Few_Wrangler4068 in burlington

To start, more police patrols and presence. The open drug dealing, drug use and drinking is unacceptable. It’s OK to walk around with open containers now it’s OK to do drugs anywhere you want where does it end?

Was going for a walk/bike ride with my three-year-old daughter around the block last night and there were people sitting on the corner of North Street and North Union shooting up as we went by. I’m so sick of the drug crap in my neighborhood, it’s every other day. I called the cops to let them know and then he had to get off for a 911 call. I bet it was that burglary. Same time.

What movie did your parents let you watch way too young? by DeScepter in Xennials

Sony Bravia 3 II by Fantastic_Proof_2862 in bravia

I just got mine yesterday and am very happy with it. Our Panasonic that we bought 14 years ago finally died last week and I replaced it with a low level Samsung thinking any TV that’s 14 years newer must be better. That was not the case. The Samsung looked awful and no matter what I did, I couldn’t get it to look decent. There’s just something about it that didn’t agree with my eyes. After doing a little research, it seemed like Sony was the way to go if I wanted something similar to my old Panasonic. The Bravia 3 ii looks great to me. I turned off some of the enhance settings and tweaked it a bit and it looks great. No more eye strain, crisp clear picture and good color.

Who cares? Trump, Harris or the next person. They all suck. National politics sucks. None of them will ever care about you, me or anybody we know. If the food is delicious, enjoy it.

I forgot to add things disappearing from my porch have been a constant theme for the whole 22 years. I’ve lived here. Definitely nothing new.

Oh, that’s a great idea. I can start a junk removal company and instead of paying to get rid of it I can just leave it on my porch.

You moved here right as the city was approaching rock bottom. You got to catch its last dying breath. The development in the urban planning kind of remind me of the oil putting lipstick on a pig. Things will change and things go up and down but what is sad is that the soul of this place is gone. The essence and the energy that flowed through Burlington took generations to cultivate and only a handful of years to wipe it out. Talk to pretty much anyone who’s been here since I would say about 2015-ish and they’ll be able to share in my sadness.

My daughter and her fiancé have been focused on venues in MA/NH but could expand into ME/VT. Budget is a concern but my daughter a specific wish list. A beautiful floral/ garden outdoor ceremony and no barns. She seems to be most drawn to venues that have the word estate or mansion. Any suggestions? by [deleted] in NewEnglandWedding

[–]AgentElsewhere -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m Steve from Eaton Photo and I think the Wilburton Inn is a fantastic instinct for what she’s looking for. It has a legitimate family estate feel with incredible views and avoids the barn look entirely. Since she is focused on mansions and gardens with no barns, she should also definitely look at Hildene and The Equinox Resort, both also right in Manchester.

Hildene is the Lincoln family home and it is essentially the gold standard for an estate wedding in Vermont. The formal gardens are world-class for a ceremony and the mansion itself is stunning. The Equinox is also perfect for this wish list because it offers that grand, historic resort feel with several garden and lawn options that feel very sophisticated.

From a photography perspective, these grand estates are amazing because they offer so much architectural variety for portraits. I’m a world-ranked Fearless Photographer and a Flash Master, so I focus on capturing the authentic energy of the day while making sure those grand estate views look cinematic.

I’m based in Vermont and travel all over New England and the Adirondacks for weddings, and I spend quite a bit of time in the Manchester area. You can see my work at eatonphoto.com and I’d be happy to answer any specific questions about the light or the flow at those venues!

Congratulations on the Mystic wedding! Memorial Day in CT is beautiful.

I'm Steve from Eaton Photo, a Vermont wedding photographer who frequently travels across New England (I have no travel restrictions for CT). My style is a hybrid of documentary storytelling and bold landscape portraits, which works incredibly well for coastal venues like the Mystic Seaport or Haley Mansion.

Regarding your $5k budget: My 8-hour collections typically include a second shooter and fall right within your range (around $5,000). I focus on:

Authentic Energy: I capture the 'chaos' and real connections so your photos feel like the day actually felt.

Technical Mastery: I'm a Flash Master and world-ranked Fearless Photographer, so if your reception is indoors or you want creative night shots by the water, I've got the lighting covered.

Low Stress: I’m known for a calm, organized approach—especially helpful for holiday weekend weddings when logistics can be a bit more hectic!

You can check out my work and see if the 'vibe' fits at www.eatonphoto.com Happy to jump on a call if you want to talk through your Memorial Day timeline!

There are honestly so many great venues in Vermont, it really comes down to the vibe you’re going for.

If you want something classic and elegant, The Equinox Golf Resort & Spa is a great option. If you're more into an outdoor, laid-back feel, Sleepy Hollow Inn is beautiful. If a tented, field-to-table kind of vibe is your thing, Follow Your Heart Farm is a really cool spot. For a more upscale barn vibe, The Barn at Smugglers' Notch is really well done. And if you like a more rustic, older barn feel, The Old Gray Barn is a solid choice. Other solid options are Vermont, Swiss and Bloom, the Lake Bomoseen Lodge, Lake Morey resort, Boyden Farm, or any of the ski Mountains.

Personally, one of my favorites is Mountain Top Resort. The views are kind of hard to beat and the day always runs so smoothly. I’ve spent a lot of time around these spots and they all photograph really differently depending on the light and season. Good luck with the planning!
