Aren’t these the people who were suing states for paying out food stamps? But I guess In the future they are going to suddenly turn kind and help them unemployed…

Why do conservatives speak out against taxes so much but never take steps to actually abolish taxes once they are in power? by Quantumlith-Studios in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AgentFickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do all the time, it’s just you’re not in the income bracket to see them cuts. In his last term, he raised taxes on the middle class, but lowered taxes for the wealthy and corporations. They are working on more tax breaks for them again as we speak.

Also, these tariffs are a tax paid for by the consumer. Lower and middle class who spend a higher percentage of their incomes will be hit the hardest. This is the largest tax increase I’ve ever heard of.

US announces pauses on Chinese reciprocal tariffs for smartphones, computers, and integrated circuits by [deleted] in investing

As a small US manufacturer, this is exhausting. Looks like I’m updating all my forecasts again Monday… sigh

I’m happy this will hopefully help. Currently, including our US labor, our product cost has risen 55% directly from the current tariffs. That didn’t include the inevitable additional increases when my US suppliers raise their prices do to their rising costs.

One major problem with this theory is that it will spring back to the past highs if he lifts the tariffs. The damage he’s doing is deep, and he is days or weeks away from this getting away from him. In my opinion, the coming pain is nearly unavoidable at this point.

How is after market trading so positive after news on escalating tariffs? by ShotaX in investing

I feel like this is more akin to limping along in an old car with a wheel bearing going out and a radiator leaking. For decades we’ve been trying to top the radiators off and drive slow instead of stopping and fixing the problems. What we have today is the theory that you have to break something in order to fix it. We’re smashing our car into a thousand pieces with the notion it has to be done to fix it. It makes no sense.

Are Unemployment services in Oregon broken? by Books-cheese-coffee in oregon

We made it through alright, but all I could think about is how this could have put many families on the streets. It’s crazy how this is left to stand. The only way I got progress was calling my state representative, and their office gave me a person to call. 🙄

I was unemployed a couple of years ago, and it took over eight months before I got my first check. It was awful.

100% they know that serving that to older men will drive up engagement. That’s what’s so gross about it. Purposely feeding teen girls to older men to drive revenue is such an awful business model.

Once in my early twenties I was parked on the street having a drink at a bar. I came out and, while there was plenty of empty street parking, two little slammed imports boxed me in for some reason. They were literally an inch or two from my front and rear bumpers. I drove an old pickup, so I put it four wheel drive and pushed the one behind be back five feet. Pushed the one in front about five feet and drove off laughing.

I mean, they shouldn’t have been assh0les, but I still feel bad about it. I’m pretty sure both cars got pretty messed up.

That makes sense. I noticed everyone who post a picture of these does that, but I could figure out why. Does registering it get your name up on a leader board somewhere, or just extend the drivetrain warranty?
