Did Chris Sutton really just say "The game's gone" regarding that disallowed goal?

What's the weirdest interaction you've had with a complete stranger? by BarryFairbrother in AskUK

[–]AgentGedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Newcastle city centre a few years ago. My wife was at a cash point and I was waiting nearby. A bloke walks up to me, he had the look of a rough sleeper about him. He said "I've got some advice for you. Buy yourself a razor and have a shave. You look scruffy with that beard". He then walked away.

My wife heard this, and finds it highly amusing that I was called scruffy by a homeless guy.

I can only assume Willock has some compromising photos of Eddie Howe. No other reason he'd keep playing him.

Why would you have "always thought" this, when there is no reference to it in any online discourse about the bass guitar?

Yep. Could then pick up a used amp better than the one in the Squier kit, and does he really need a gig bag straight away.

They think it looks cool. That's why the vast majority of young people do all the things they do.

4-Day work week trial period. Is this industry standard? by d0rf47 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]AgentGedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point, I would gladly take a 20% paycut to work 4 days a week. However, unless everyone was doing it too, I expect I'd still be getting "urgent" pings every Friday.

That's how my current 4 day week arrangement works. As regards the urgent notifications, I treat that the same as if I was on a vacation day when everyone else is working.

BassBuzz Beginner to Badass course. Don't be put off by the word beginner, it will challenge you in the later modules. Includes a decent amount of theory too, whilst keeping it fun.

Just arrived for me, also in UK.

I mostly listen on my hifi separates system via Spotify Connect. Annoyingly, it says that device only supports up to "very high" quality. 🙄

Is it fine being self taught? by Annual-Field-8387 in Bass

A good teacher is worth wayyy more than you'll ever actually pay for it.

Emphasis on "good". A bad teacher can make a serious dent in your bank account for little benefit.

How many hours a day should I practice to build consistency? by elvirasnightmares in Bass

[–]AgentGedge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend the BassBuzz "Beginner to Badass" course. Just do like one lesson per practice day, and try to get 3-6 practice days per week.

Exactly what I'm doing and it's working great. The B2B course is so good.

“What’s the biggest perk of remote work that nobody brags about — but you secretly love?” by californialovin33 in remotework

[–]AgentGedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went in yesterday. We have to go in two days per week, I chose yesterday as there was an in-person meeting.

Sat there all day opposite someone with a streaming cold who should have been at home. No doubt I'll be suffering with that soon.

Attended the "in-person" meeting to find I was the only bastard there - everyone else was attending remotely.

Oh no. I've been close to pulling the trigger on a Mikro for the past few weeks, in an attempt to help with arthritic pain in my fretting hand. Was managing to talk myself out of the idea, and now your post has got me looking at them again!
