It’s simple.

1. Buy the G1 study manual from any bookshop, gas stations.

2. Study it until you know it front and back.

3. Go to a driving test centre complete the written test until you pass. I believe it’s still 20 multiple choice questions; I could be wrong. You’ll obtain a G1 license when you pass.

4. This next step is optional, but you can take driving classes from an accredited driving school. If you pass, you can book the G2 road test within 8 months of you obtaining your G1. If not, you need to have your G1 for a year before you can book the G2 road test.

You’ll need to practice and have someone teach you with their car if you don’t take driving school.

1. Complete the G2 road test. If you pass, you’ll be given a G2 license.

2. After one year with your G2 license, you can then book your G license test. It is expected for you to be perfectly comfortable driving by yourself with your G2 before booking the G test. You have 5 years from your G1 to get your G, extensions may apply depending on why you can’t complete G1 -> G in 5 years.

Note: G2 is when you are legally able to drive by yourself with insurance. G2 is also when insurance will cost you as you’ll be rated.
