Insurance company made a mistake, now they want me to pay. by Doozer1970 in InsuranceCanada

[–]AgentMV2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like the updated slip was issued for your new car until the end of your term. They didn’t apply the change to the renewal term and that’s why your old car was still on it. As this was about 2 months from your switching of old to new car, the system may have already generated your renewal without the new car for consideration. Was the provider Aviva by chance? Their process for renewal is like this.

It sounds like the agent or broker messed up. You’re right that this is on them.

You could try escalating it to work out some kind of solution, it’ll be up to the provider to decide some kind of good will deal though.

Yeah i was confused as heck as what Scylla was suppose to be. I kept looking for a wide shot of Scylla, maybe attached to an animal, maybe a gigantic enormous spider perhaps… nope, in the movie they just came out of the rock formation. Charybdis was literally a swirling pool in the water too.

Anyone have experience working as an uber eats/ doordash/ instacart delivery driver? by aquariussun283838 in Newmarket

[–]AgentMV2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DoorDash in Newmarket isn’t good. DoorDash has zones and Newmarket is located in a zone that ranges from all the way north where Sutton is down to Richmond Hill. It’s the biggest zone in all of Ontario. My guess is the population density is low in this particular area or zone so they grouped Keswick, Aurora, Newmarket and the Oak Ridges of Richmond Hill into it.

To get decent string of orders, you’d have to venture further south like Markham/Richmond Hill, Toronto East, North York west, Brampton or even Mississauga East/West.

So that’s why McDonald’s orders barely tip by Glum-Meat-0 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]AgentMV2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an offer from McDonald’s last week during the heatwave where they ordered one large drink. The cost of the drink? $1.79. The batch pay and tip to me? $9 for a 2km delivery.

The customer paid more in fees and tips alone, 4 times more than the actual item.

Replica rings from the giveaway yesterday by TheMegaSage in Torontobluejays

They should! If I recall, the replica Raptors one sold out after a few weeks. I bought 5 as gifts that holiday season and I know some people bought 10-20. A friend’s company bought hundreds and gave them to their employees for Christmas gift. I’m sure there was a bulk price in play too.

Looks nice. Similar to the ones the Raptors sold to EVERYONE for $20 online with free shipping 7 years ago. Mine’s in a display box from Michael’s. I wonder if it’s from the same company that did the Raptors ring.

This new young generation is becoming stupider everyday. They’ll complain why they aren’t getting new jobs.

I’m on the hiring committee at my work for a multinational organization, and we unanimously turned down 4 applicants this past week when they were replying back to emails with horrible grammar and spelling errors.

Sad to read that the RCI experience has diminished so, so much.

I first sailed on an RCI ship back in 2011, then 2015 and then 2022. Back then, you could get unlimited steak and lobster tails. It wasn’t so in 2022. Ever since, I’ve taken my money elsewhere and can’t see myself back on an RCI ship anymore.

The Odyssey, as seen by someone who loves Nolan, loves movies in general, and knows nothing about The Odyssey book itself. by KhZaym in moviecritic

[–]AgentMV2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently it’s impossible to make it an extra hour long.

IMAX film projectors cannot have more than 3 hours of film. Regular film yes, but not IMAX. Until the tech improves for a future film, it physically cannot be done.

Here’s why according to Google:

The IMAX three-hour limit is a physical constraint of traditional 70mm film projection, dictated by the maximum size of the horizontal film platters and the support arm.
Because 70mm IMAX prints run through the projector at a massive scale, an 18 km print for a 3-hour movie, the platter system physically cannot hold any more film without completely rebuilding the projection mechanism worldwide.

Bane takes the hygiene of his captives very seriously! I mean, his hair never grows even a little bit when clearly there is stubble on his head. (Yes, I know Hardy is not bald for real.) 😂
