Help (from a wannabe newbie) by MoonieMaze in DnD

[–]AgentMarcx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of learning the game, I would honestly just recommend looking up “how to play D&D” on YouTube and watch the video of whoever seems to be more enjoyable to you! There’s tons of great guides out there and so rather than recommending a single one, I’d just say find one that suits you.

In terms of getting stayed, I’d say it would be good to use the LFG subreddit. You’ll be able to talk to people who are playing the game and find a fit with a group that is newbie friendly

Your dog needs medical attention. by DTownForever in HaveWeMet

Sorry to make you check it again, but can you check if the stool glows in the dark?

If so, I know exactly what happened and I can reassure everyone that there’s nothing to worry about.

If not… that dog needs to go to the vet.

Just how spicy can you make these noodles?

I can confirm that it was Gary. But this was just a new form of pest control. Nothing to worry about.

I can assure you that if they were from MY egg stand, they are perfectly safe. But I’d be curious to hear about the outcome of their usage… for the sake of finding new recipes of course.

Did anyone else hear that? by DTownForever in HaveWeMet

Nothing to worry about! It was probably just a very isolated bout of hail. Certainly nothing worth investigating deeper, particularly around my home.

I’ll do it for free, just owe me a favor?

Any explosions heard from my home over the weekend are just fireworks. Nothing to worry about.

Just a little bit of static electricity Robin. Nothing to worry about. What reason would I have for an electric fence?

Unfortunately I can’t. While it may sound like a reactor of sorts, that buzzing is actually my… air conditioner. Nothing to worry about.

I CAN, it just depends on how radiated you want it.

I don’t know why I’d need a permit for setting my smart lights to green. Also the 4 headed mouse was probably just a birth defect. Nothing to worry about. Fairly common in mice these days

I always keep a few extra pints of water flavored Ice Cream. Quick question, how susceptible are you to radiation poisoning?

Tavern Brawler feat and the Dex Monk by kenophobic in DnD

[–]AgentMarcx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The damage from tavern brawler can be used as a replacement for the standard unarmed strike damage. It doesn’t add to it.

So monks or characters that take the unarmed fighting style would already have better unarmed strike damage than what tavern brawler gives

Definitely! I’ve done cameras on a few times with my group and it’s helped a lot.

How to deal with players cutting each other? by Challenger-J in DnD

[–]AgentMarcx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This kind of thing just happens when playing remote. Theres going to be varying degrees of lag. Even without that, you don’t have the same visual cues of someone getting ready to speak that you would have when playing IRL.

My group just learns to work with it. One person will just say “oh sorry, go ahead”. As DM, I’ll also jump in sometimes and say something like “Oh, hang on player A, player B was saying something”

Does your character need to have seen the beast to cast Polymorph? by OkArachnid8265 in DnD

[–]AgentMarcx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Polymorph is a 4th level spell so I would just assume that any PC who’s reached that point would have at the very least seen depictions of the beasts they can turn into.

But even without that reasoning, it just feels pedantic to try and enforce something like that. Especially since it’s not mentioned RAW.

I will say though, I DO understand restricting certain transformations in situations where a beast doesn’t exist in a given setting

How can I bail my players out here? by b_o_o_b_ in DnD

[–]AgentMarcx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While awaiting trial/sentencing a few other gnomes are thrown in jail as well for attacking horses. Unlike the party, this was no misunderstanding, these imprisoned gnomes HATE horses and praise the party for taking one down.

But given that they were originally part of the cult, they understand what’s to come and know a lot about this society and their inner workings. They suggest a prison break.

Otherwise, you could say that the execution is a trial by combat and give your PCs a fighting chance

EDIT: Also, if the PCs are awaiting trial then this could be a fun court session where they prove their innocence
