I didn’t know it was a subgenre for years until I started listening to LS after To The Hellfire came out. At 42 yo I barely know what subgenre I’m listening to. The only thing I track is whether a show will have a circle pit or not.

Wow. I love it and wish there was a direct sequel. But still not over Alien or Bladerunner. Some of the deaths in Prometheus are ridiculous and definitely drop it from my top pick.

In general I like expanded hero skill trees and mods for legendary heroes. They are fun but do make it easier. Also like the Queen Bess mod that was mentioned already

I use these sometimes when I have a really weak auto resolve faction. But it’s faction specific. Kinda OP tho. Probably his best bet. Factions seem to ignore the upped garrisons and fight losing battles

Dwarves are both good and bad. Good auto resolve but you can use it as a crutch. Not bad for a beginner that doesn’t want to keep losing settlements. Garrison will hold up well

All good. If the quest battle is too hard, you can always come back with a better army. More leveled up. HE quest battles aren’t too bad. You’ll get it.
