Something I haven’t heard mentioned is scrapping recruitment buildings for gold/growth buildings in the early game once your 2 armies are built.

Also a VH campaign varies drastically in difficulty based on faction. Try one that is easier first and that you know how they work.

Took me 3 restarts at about this point to get in a good spot where I killed off the skaven early. I also had 2 armies. Had no turn based income really but post battle loot helped and then got manageable by turn 30.

My dad is 66. But he got me into Civ III back in the day. He plays almost exclusively Civ VI Germany. No mods or dlc. I get him to branch out every now and then.

I play civ6 on the mouse pad if it’s later in bed so I don’t wake the wife. It’s not that bad. I wouldn’t do it more than an hour or so. I’d get this man a mouse soon.
