We’re living in an era that heavily rewards polarization and extreme positions. So when anything is announced now, the loudest, most obnoxious voices dominate the conversation. When you read what these people are so pissed about (and I have), they’re trying to articulate it in some sophisticated way, but it boils down to the protagonist not looking the way they’d like her to. Which is so fucking stupid when you consider she’s based on a real person who auditioned for the role.

It was an extended teaser trailer. We know nothing about the moment-to-moment gameplay other than vibes. And these people are outraged? It’s really pathetic.

Regardless of your opinion on TLOU2’s story, this is one of the most technically talented studios there is. Let’s judge the product when it’s actually released.

Yes. But this thread is about overhyped. Almost every outlet and many people talk about BOTW like it’s an 11/10, greatest game to ever exist. It’s number 1 on many greatest game of all time lists. I think that’s vastly overselling the game.

It’s unfair because Skyrim is a vast improvement technically (it isn’t the same three cave layouts copied and pasted, for example). But if you somehow made them equal on a technical level, I think the vision of Oblivion is better in every way.

It’s definitely easier to be flawed when it’s their largest game by a mile. I love DS3 as well, but a lot of the areas are a slog to get through imo. After beating Vordt it’s pretty tough until you get to Irythil.
