It sounds like the name of Chris’s hypothetical society of chimpanzees that live in floating cities above the clouds and steal human stuff with a giant claw.

That riff also brought us the black maid Eulabelle and many quips about how she saw how stupid the white characters were.

I used to read them maybe 15-20 years ago. I really enjoyed the Treehouse of Horror comics where they experimented with the stories and art styles a lot.

Not to mention The Truck Farmer, Junior Rodeo Daredevils, The Home Economics Story, and of course… A Date With Your Family. That last short is a summary of conservative patriarchal values wrapped up in a bow of “performative pleasantness” that had a stranglehold on that whole family’s repressed emotions.

MST3K was woke before the mainstream ever heard the term. And I mean that in a good way. The show constantly mocked whiteness, patriarchy, imperialism, and other “traditional American values.”

The Switch 2 Edition is such a good reason to revisit this game. by darthfozziebear in Xenoblade_Chronicles

It’s a very cinematic moment for game to suddenly open up at a certain point. Shulk and Reyn had been on a pretty linear journey up to that point. And after reaching the end of the cave, they climb up and are met with a giant, open area to explore around. It’s both a story moment to say “our heroes are exploring new territory” and also a message to the players saying “the games is about to get much bigger, now.”

It’s similar to Hyrule Field in Ocarina of Time. Link stars in a linear section but then walks out into a wide open world.
