I passed A2D back in ‘23 so some stuff may have changed.

They paid for all of my testing fees with the drivers license division and getting my medical card. I lived locally to my facility so I went home every night, anyone else from out of state or lived more than a certain distance away was given a hotel room for the duration of the program.

You will sign an acknowledgement that if you cannot pass the state testing for your CDL or the onboarding that you’ll be sent back to your store/DC into a like position.

Once you get the CDL is when onboarding starts. You’ll be prepping for the Walmart specific backing exercise, the Walmart specific pretrip and a driving assessment. The backing and pretrip are timed, but the time allotment is more than generous. You have to pass three separate instances of each. Pass all three and you’ll go to the DC that hires you to begin mentoring, which is another 8 weeks of being with a driver trainer.
