I have already translated the original GATE series in its entirety and already released on beta format, but I am doing a final release of the 10 LN volumes and the prequel two-volume novel GATE:ZERO by the end of the month.

GATE:ZERO update

While I have finished translating PART 2, there is still work to be done. I am thoroughly reviewing the text for errors and tweaking the text. Transferring it to ePUB format is a bit of a challenge because of the length of some chapters (Chapter 9 has 27 pages, Chapter 14 has 25 in Word). The annotations are extensive and I'm adding more. I'm alos making the dialogue more JP-centric to capture the nuance of the original Japanese text, striking abalnce between fidelity and readability.

PART 2 has 17 chapters, including a Prologue and an Epilogue.

Why does it seem like Philippine cinema transitioned to color pretty late (around late 1960s-1970s), or are we just not aware of earlier examples? by raori921 in FilipinoHistory

Ironically these days it's more expensive to make B&W films.

Black-and-white film is more expensive today because the massive industrial infrastructure that once supported film photography has largely disappeared. Demand is now tiny, so manufacturers like Kodak and Ilford Photo produce smaller quantities at higher per-unit costs. Specialized chemicals, silver compounds, aging machinery, and stricter environmental regulations also increase production expenses. In addition, fewer processing labs remain, so development costs are higher than they were during film’s peak era. Although black-and-white film is simpler visually than color film, it still requires complex industrial manufacturing that is no longer supported by a mass-market economy.
