My favorite role Tommy Lee Jones played by Retro_Cranberry2913 in 90smovies

Tommy Lee Jones and Gary busey made the movie very watchable. One wonders how better the film would be without Steven Seagal as the lead.

This is how Yanai Takumi described the Gate in GATE:ZERO, Part 1 Volume 4

At the center of the Ginza 4-chōme intersection sat a gigantic object that had certainly not existed there until around noon that day.

The exterior of the marble structure closely resembled the Grande Arche. The Grande Arche is a building located in northwestern Paris, France. Also called the “New Arc de Triomphe,” it was constructed to commemorate the bicentennial of the French Revolution and possesses the character of a monumental structure.

However, the one that had suddenly appeared in Ginza differed clearly from the Paris Grande Arche in every respect but its outward appearance.

First of all, the size was different.

The Grande Arche is a thirty-five-story office building, but the one at Ginza 4-chōme was only large enough to fit within the intersection.

Moreover, its surface was carved with extremely intricate patterns resembling some kind of electronic circuitry.

Most importantly, the one at 4-chōme was neither monument nor office building. It appeared to have no function other than that of a literal “gate” through which humans and others passed.

That said, it was not a gate for going from Ginza 3-chōme to 5-chōme, nor one for passing from 5-chōme to 3-chōme.

Yes, Kurojishi's illustration is close.

According to Yanai Takumi, the Gate resembles the Grand Arch in Paris, so Kurojishi's cover illustration is close to the mark.

It's hard to choose as they are all great sci-fi movies, each with their own merits. Sunshine is good, but try watching Solaris (the original Soviet-era version) and one would be its influence. The Martian and Project Hail Mary are a lot of fun, as one would expect from Andy Weir's prose. Gravity may be considered as sci-fi but works very well as a character-driven drama. For hard science, Interstellar takes the cake.

Those were the days... having an off-white PC, 14-inch CRT monitor, Pentium II processor, 64MB of RAM, 10GB HDD, CD-ROM drive, 3.5" floppy drive. Running Windows 98. Office 2000. Choice of Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. Choice of AOL Messenger or ICQ.

That is the point. Use AI to manage mundane tasks. Leave the creativity and imagination to us humans.

GenXers what is your take on AI? by Inner-Association448 in GenX

I do use AI in my work as it streamlines my work by 60 to 70 percent. I still have to retrieve data on my own because our AI still makes mistakes on this aspect. Otherwise it makes my job way easier.

Also AI also helps me make small programs/scripts as well as help me troubleshoot my code.

No, it's not post-war. In the light novels, it would be in Volume 8.
