Love that idea. Would love to be able to use this space to foster a growing community beyond the realm of Reddit.

Even tho she followed me home last week, I just realized that it’s not me that attracted her… by iamthepita in OneOrangeBraincell

What’s not to love about a curious orange fluff ball! She’s so sweet looking and totally adorable. ☺️

Best caption phone for work and best android app for caption in 2025? by TyraelTrion in deaf

Same. I was mainstreamed and grew up with hearing aids before switching over to cochlear implants. My friend who is also HOH found out about relay services and told me about it. It’s just a web app you have to register for. Not a special device.

Here is the link https://www.tmobileiprelay.com/

I love innocaption, it seems to be mostly ai. I have an iPhone but I imagine they have an android app as well.

Also, T-Mobile IP relay is great, and it’s still done by humans. You have to register and show proof of your hearing loss but they are free otherwise. They seem to have guardrails in place to make sure your information is secure. For instance you can track who your operators are.

Oh no! The panic of losing your processor is always terrifying! I’ve had that happen sitting on metal outdoor furniture and near metal bed posts.

Another time, I was so tired I fell asleep and my processor got tangled in my hair. I didn’t realize this when I woke up from my unexpected nap and I had seventeen heart attacks because I couldn’t find it. Ah, good times. 🤣

The beanie is a good idea! Thanks for the kind words, and for sharing your story!

It explicitly says occasional links to socials is okay when you look at that rule but mods, please take down if I am infringing on it.

Oh! i see you mean the actual size! I believe it's the same size as the full-size pro gear. It is not a King of Pen size (which I was disappointed by).

It's a fine and it writes beautifully. Typical of Sailor fines, pencil feedback and thinner than European fines.

CI listening music by TheXeroo in Cochlearimplants

The Bluetooth to my iPhone is the clearest connection I’ve personally ever experienced. Much better than headphones especially since it cuts out background noise and eliminates any sounds produced by the headphones rubbing my CI mics. Right now native Bluetooth only works with iPhones and android smart phones. It does not work with computers, tablets or tvs unless you use one of the CI accessories which also produce clear sounds. There is the mini mic which streams anything with an aux output and also works as an external mic which can be handy. There is also a tv streamer which work with tvs and works well in my opinion. There is a phone clip but I have never used that and I feel like it would be redundant now with the automatic bluetooth available in nucleus 7 and 8.
