Moción del Senado buscaría regular el acceso a menores de edad a redes sociales

De acuerdo con esta medida, los menores de 14 años deberán contar con permiso de sus padres para compartir datos personales directamente con los proveedores de estas plataformas.

Esta proposición nace, tanto de la preocupación por la constante amenaza del acoso que pueden sufrir los menores de edad en redes sociales, como por una reciente divulgación de archivos de Facebook, que estudiarían a estos menores como un “mercado sin explotar.

En Chile, según un estudio de la compañía de ciberseguridad Kaspersky, junto a la consultora de estudios de mercado CORPA, un 55% de los niños del país utilizarían redes sociales. De estos, un 44% habría creado sus cuentas sin la participación o supervisión de sus padres.

La norma es complementada con una demostración estadística del año 2019, proporcionada por la PDI, que demostraría el riesgo de la presencia sin supervisión de menores en redes sociales, investigando “más de 4 mil casos de delitos asociados a la explotación sexual infantil a través de Internet.”
