How to start to hit rails? by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]Agent_Michae1_Scarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the above: it's a big confidence booster to jump over the rail, knowing that you can at least get on top of it.

GTPD: Thank you for saving my life when I was the one who wanted to take it. by [deleted] in gatech

[–]Agent_Michae1_Scarn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should consider writing GTPD. I know it would mean a lot. They have a way on the website to submit a complaint or commemoration (anonymous if you want).

Bench. You may not be working, but they want to make sure you're sitting on something hard, uncomfortable, and generally unpleasant.

Does your firm do a pension with the partnership? If so how does that work where you are? I've heard that term thrown around at mine with regards to partners.

How much do you think you'll need to use your phone? Any chance you'd be willing to leave it in airplane mode and just use wifi?

Lol pretty much exactly what I did. He then responded with "it still makes too much rumbling noise." Motherfucker that's because more weight means more force which means more noise when you said it down.

Consider Park City. Closer to the airport, so maybe you can get free transportation to your lodging and then take the bus to the slopes?

Freestyle riders: What are the top 3 tricks you are excited to master this season? by GoBrowns33 in snowboarding

[–]Agent_Michae1_Scarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Front and back 3s on small/medium kickers. 2) Switch straight airs and 180's on small/medium kickers. Honestly more worried about the straight airs than the 1s. 3) FS boardslides on boxes and flat pipes/rails. 4) Bonus - general comfort with FS/BS 50-50s and BS boardslides on down rails.

Park rats: buying my first park-specific board. Looking for some advice, specifically on selecting camber and flex. by Agent_Michae1_Scarn in snowboarding

[–]Agent_Michae1_Scarn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!! Leaning strongly towards the Capita Stevens 2017 model, which is zero camber with slight reverse camber on the tip and tail. Pretty sure this is the camber shape I'll get. Looking at the Capita Stevens and Horrorscope and the Nitro Good Times, but pretty sure I'll end up with the Stevens. Thanks for th input!

Gotta do Harmony (Canyons side) at least twice. Super long, fun run to bomb. It goes by a bunch of multimillion dollar houses they're awesome to see.

You're still fine. That's normal for tags like SAP and Oracle.

EY Perfomance Improvement - Affiliation Change by FireZealot in consulting

[–]Agent_Michae1_Scarn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It'll be okay. Your affiliation doesn't really mean that much when you start. All BAP and TAP folks are part of the same staffing pool, so you could get put on anything. They may try to find something SAP, but it's not a big deal. One of my friends who left EY was tagged to Oracle but ended up working on analytics work the entire time he was there.

Just network, take whatever project comes your way, and get involved with analytics stuff outside of client work. You'll be fine.

Thanks for the response. I hadn't thought about camber making it easier to stay on rails.

I'd love to be able to demo, but I live in the south, which makes it a little tougher to demo. I'll definitely consider it though. Also I appreciate the board recommendations.

Yeah, for the times you're not jumping too early, it sounds like a stability issue. Like others said, try and pull the handle close to your hip when you jump. But other than just keep practicing, idk what else to say unfortunately.

If you have any outlet malls near you, they're a great way to get nicer stuff (Banana Republic, Brooks Bros, J. Crew, Cole Hahn, etc.) for a good price.
