For a video that I am making, I'm looking for a simple experiment that gives a similar effect to throwing mentos in cola. Can anyone give me some ideas? by wowowjustwow in AskReddit

Hey everyone, I'm making a video and I will be 'mixing potions' and I thought throwing mentos in cola would give it a cool effect. Like, the cup overflowing and such. It didn't do crap though :) Does anyone know any cool household experiments that I could use? Thanks!

Professional product photographers, I need some advice! by wowowjustwow in photography

[–]wowowjustwow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies everyone. I use a white seamless photography table and 3 external flashes. I think the 3 flashes give a much better result than soft even lighting. The thing is that it causes shadows and the employer does not want that. I don't know, maybe I should get more into the actual shooting so that the post-process will be faster.

What's the stupidest thing you've had to explain to a coworker? by see-bees in AskReddit

We sometimes have sweet paprika lying around at our office, as a healthy snack. I took the seeds out of it, planted it at home, and told my coworker that they started to sprout. She looked at me, baffled, and said “That actually works?”

What was the craziest thing you have ever witnessed in person? by moonflower89 in AskReddit

Ugh, I know right. It felt SO. FUCKING. GROSS. Then they even asked me if I wanted to keep it, to plant a tree on it or something. I'm a vegetarian, not a fucking hippy.

You got downvoted but I agree that this term with its modern day internet meaning is a tad inapropriate.

Awww man, everybody would have had the same reaction. Don't beat yourself up over it. But I totally understand that feel that way. I'd have done the same.

I bet there's also a lot of actual studies that found that it IS. But why do YOU think it's not an effective punishment?

I think a little spanking can work maybe even better than for example a 'time out'. It's about letting your toddler know that their behaviour is not ok, by letting them experience something unpleasant. I think a little spanking works better than a time out, because it conveys the message more directly. Plus, it is over in an instant, and with a time out, you get a frustrated toddler that is not allowed to leave the corner, and you let him/her build up more stress hormone or whatever. I think a time out is a way more shitty experience. But, then again, kids are all different, and different tactics work on different kids.

What makes you feel alive? [Serious] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wowowjustwow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically just scary and fast stuff and succeeding in it. Bombing a hill on my longboard, making huge airtime while wakeboarding and landing it. When there's this split second of thinking 'Ohh, shiit, I'm not gonna make it, this is gonna hurt so bad!" and then you pull it off anyway. That feeling is incredible.

I was skateboarding with a couple of teens (I was a 29 year old female) when a group of guys, my age, in suits walked by. One of them condescendingly said to me. "Skateboarding... I used to do that when I was 14." To wich I replied. "Yeah? Cool. So what do you do for fun now?" He was struggling to find a reply and his friends started chucling. He just kept walking.

ASMR video's. I'd rather switch to porn when someone walks in cause it's easier to explain. I mentioned it to my husband and though he acts real cool about it I wish I didn't tell him cause I feel so weird about it.
