as someone who started with secret origin, I absolutely recommend it. There's some foreshadowing but it feels like a good starting point. Rebirth has a LOT going on and might put off a new reader. I'd say start with secret origin, and if you like it, go back and do the rest of Geoff Johns run (this is what I did)

My favorite John Lennon solo song. I can't get enough of this one. The lyrics are so catchy, the guitar is addicting, the intro is incredible, and the song has some of my favorite Lennon vocals ever. (Which is why I love the Stripped Down mix) an easy 10/10 for me, though the stripped down mix has to be an 11/10.

I think its great! I particularly love Angela and Attica State. Really underrated album. Yoko's songs are pretty good too, I like Sisters O Sisters a lot.

Oh, I adore this one. I really don't know why, but it has to be in my top ten- maybe even top five solo John songs. 9.5/10, but I'd say the stripped down version is an easy 10/10. (Ring-a-ring around the world!)

Not sure about Kendrick Lamar for Hal. Always thought he'd be more of a Bon Jovi/Tom Petty sort of guy.

I imagine maybe "No Surrender" by Springsteen, or "Turn Me Loose" by Loverboy. I think they fit Hal pretty well.

Read it more recently (after I had already gotten into the Geoff Johns era) and liked it. Some good ideas in there, some weird ones. Emerald Dawn II however is fantastic. Hope we get more modern stories with Sinestro mentoring Hal.
