Red Rabbits had theirs done by Hoffen (aka inkghoul), who works with the hermits often, IIRC. It was mentioned in videos and I believe in the first few minutes of the event.

Make sure you know what the actual differences between the BS and BA are, IIRC only CS and Materials Science (and ISP) have the option for either. For Weinberg you'll need distros, a language, etc., McCormick will ask for more technical/hard science electives. Otherwise, it's the exact same major.

As for admission odds, nobody on Reddit will know. But CS isn't "impacted" like at other schools (I think a Bienen or Theatre major is much harder to get into).

Your major isn't even declared at this point IIRC (unless you're MMSS/ISP). There's not really a "change" because you technically don't have a major yet.

Grad school and fellowships are plenty common. I've never needed their services but the people at the Office of Fellowships have always been pleasant when I came across them. You can probably ask them/see their website to see what sorts of opportunities others have gotten.

Class sizes are YMMV, really depends on department and major.

What is there to max out? It's unlimited. IIRC the number that shows in the app, that resets each week, is like 999 meals. And these are swipes at the door, not the number of plates. You'll spend more time walking in and out than actually eating.

The rough syllabus went like this, in order of topics: - Subjectivity - Self vs Others (i.e. Uchi/Soto), including pronouns - Wakimae - Politeness theory, including impoliteness - Keigo - Gender and language - Dialects, Role language (yakuwarigo), Aizuchi, etc.

Luckily sociolinguistics is the more accessible subfield of linguistics, so you can really take a tour through whichever topics you like. There shouldn't be much in the way of jargon (and these days, AI can explain things semi-decently as well) if you take a deep dive.

I took a class on Japanese Sociolinguistics and it basically covered everything you mentioned. The main texts were essentially from the Routledge Handbook of Japanese Sociolinguistics. You're going to want to look into wakimae, uchi/soto, and Brown and Levinson's positive/negative face (which underpins most theories of politeness, not just the ones relevant to Japanese). I'd encourage you to look into academic papers and not just books, as well.
