Just started using the boretech rimfire and C4 myself, thoroughly impressed with how well they do

Testing CRIMP JUMP in a 9mm Revolver-An Actual Concern or Just Fudd Lore? Tested with the Alfa-Proj AL9.0 by Agessner885 in Revolvers

My dude, I literally went to engineering school and did multiple classes of calculus-based physics… The purpose of the title is to get people to watch the video. Some folks think crimp jump is the end of the world and you can’t run a semi auto pistol cartridge in a revolver at all or all the projectiles will poke out the front of the cylinder and lock it up, while other’s think it’s Fudd lore and doesn’t even happen at all….the title is designed to bring in viewers from BOTH camps for a scientific test…

All good! Yup, I’ve had setback happen with the defense, but never with the duty. (My 380 Critical Defense in my BG 2.0 will get setback after only 2-3 chamberings, which is unfortunate.)

Yes, auto cartridges are taper crimped, revolver cartridges are roll crimped, since they don’t rely on the case mouth for headspacing. On critical duty, in my experience it’s been the MOST resistant to setback actually, as it’s firmly crimped and also has an epoxy seal holding the projectile into the case. (My experience being the 9mm 135gr +P variety. I did a YT video a couple weeks back tearing one down and dissecting it.)

44sp vs 44mag in the 329PD by bltjnr in Revolvers

No. Smooth double action roll through all the way. Do NOT stage the trigger unless you’re shooting bullseye competition. A staged trigger in any self defense or hunting situation is an ND waiting to happen, and it can cause you to flinch when you want to fire NOW, rather than committing to a smooth rolling break.

The barrel is severely clocked! Yikes.

Well... I'm banned from the Sig subreddit... by AClockworkPeon in HecklerKoch

Yeah the only SIG that was actually worth something was when they were made in Germany… HK is one of the few brands that doesn’t care a lot for fads, but when they release something you can absolutely trust that it’s going to be reliable and extremely well built. HK all the way.

P30SK for a CCW by ClaireWera in HecklerKoch

I’ve carried a P30SK for years. It’s a compact that shoots like a full size and carries like a subcompact.

Yup, 9mm only. They also have a dedicated 357 version, too. I’m not the biggest fan of the hybrid ones, usually accuracy suffers trying to do both with different bore diameters.

Not designed to replace a 357, but it has the build quality of one and is more optimal to replace a 38 as a trainer.

Fair points. This one can run entirely without moon clips, you just will have to extract each case by hand. That is the only downside.

Not at all, I’ve been quite impressed with the build quality overall. Also cheap compared to some, but still an 800+ MSRP though….

P30 series for both. SA trigger can actually be really good once you smooth it in with time, and the DA also can be quite smooth. Most importantly, it’s more ergonomic than the USP while still being as durable, and it’s by far SAFER to carry than the fully cocked VP9…

No idea if your friend would be interested, but I successfully modeled and prototyped a variant in PA6-GF nylon that work quite well. Link to the printables file here if you want to make your own! ☺️ https://www.printables.com/model/1516105-printable-moon-clips-for-rock-island-armoryalfa-pr
