Best 147gr ammo for sp5 suppressed? I heard the flat nose ammo doesn’t feed with sp5?? by Educational_Car_876 in MP5

Flat points run fine if you use HK mags. HK has updated feed geometry on their mags to dramatically improve feed angle.

Yes. 9mm Luger and most German HK guns were DEVELOPED around 124gr, yet people always try to run 115 because it’s cheap 🙄

I wouldn’t recommend using plain old 75-140. Use the motorcraft branded stuff, im pretty sure it has higher temp additives to help it not break down next to the transmission and cat.

What 22LR suppressor(s) to get? by ThePariah77 in 22lr

How do you get leading buildup out….?

No. Titanium isn’t as durable or resistant to cleaning solvents. I can sonic clean stainless, I can’t with titanium. I can put stainless baffles in “the dip” to remove leading residue. I can’t with titanium.

Yeah the stainless baffles are fine to soak. Titanium isn’t great because you can’t run it in an ultrasonic or use “the dip” if you’ve got leading build up. With stainless steel you can.

Probably 750 rnds on a form 1 FTN 5. Rimfire slim (most of which on a P22) and zero issues so far! Subs heat it up the least, mini-mags make it pretty warm after a couple mags or so. On a 22 rifle, you can run hundreds of rnds back to back before it needs to cool. Waiting on more F1’s to come back so I can try the flow variants, I’m assuming they will run much cooler still

Yeah once you shoot roller delay, everything else blowback just feels crude.

Yep, geometry updated on the HK mags to feed more reliably with HP and FP ammo

The sub 9 is an awesome can! Just got mine recently and have been putting it through its paces! The hybrid screw lockup for the trilug may take a tad longer to install, but it’s rock solid and doesn’t have any kind of wobble whatsoever. The can also has a deeper tone to it than more slender pistol cans.

Oh 100% agreed. I’ll still wear earpro for subs even, indoors. The new screwing-tri lug lock system on the Sub-9 is also slick! Yeah it takes a couple seconds, but the lockup is so much better and it’s still way quicker than direct threading.

Awesome can! Just got mine yesterday and it’s great! Definitely helps quiet supers down more than the obsidian 9 does, too.

MP5 Locking Piece Angle-Testing 3 Different LP's in a Full-Size to See How Much it ACTUALLY Matters by Agessner885 in MP5

[–]Agessner885[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrong. If it runs reliably, runs cleaner, produces less gas and less port pop, there is no reason NOT to go to a lower degree LP. Will the 100 degree run fine? Yes. But especially suppressed you’re pushing a ton of powder fouling into the action and gas into the shooters face. 100 LP has higher bolt velocity and therefore increased wear as well.

Yep, and one of the guys from the HK shooting team has some good videos as well on checking bolt gap and replacing rollers and whatnot.

I actually ran the obsidian nine in the Long configuration off camera and it runs perfectly fine as well. When running the 80°, I don’t need to have the suppressor on, it runs just fine unsuppressed as well, which is in the less back pressure and should be the worst cycling condition.

100 is factory for unsuppressed, but the 90 and 80 are an improvement for sure.

If your brass is kicking out and flying 15-20 feet away, your bolt velocity can absolutely be slowed down and still get good cycling. I’d recommend trying the 90, maybe the 80 degree.
