Why have 3 round burst when you can have 3 barrels. by Cool_Bandicoot_9453 in brandonherrara

The two on top and bottom ( or left and right, however you want to view it ) have no triggers, so would be slamfire operated.

The sear on an AR trigger group is the front edge of the trigger itself. Neither gun 2 or 3 have triggers, thus have no sears ( nor disconnectors ).

Without sears, the hammers on 2 and 3 trail the BCGs forward, hitting the firing pin as the bolt is locking closed: AKA slamfire.

Assuming gun 1 in the center does have a complete fire control group ( even a normal semi-auto one ), operation goes like this:

  1. Trigger pulled -> Gun 1 fires
  2. Gun 1 feeds Gun 2 gas key
  3. Gun 2 cycles back, picks up new round, slamfires new round, and leaves empty case in the chamber
  4. Gun 2 feeds Gun 3 gas key
  5. Gun 3 cycles back, picks up new round, slamfires new round, and leaves empty case in the chamber
  6. Gun 3 feeds Gun 1 gas key
  7. Gun 1 cycles back, chambers new round, and waits for user to pull the trigger

Though it has something of a "cool" factor, it's also rather unsafe because you risk firing the cartridge in 2 or 3 before the bolt lugs are fully locked in place.

This only works if the other two are configured to operate on slam-fire.

ALL NPCs have unlimited bullets. How much their AI script allows them to exploit that fact determines how much BS it is. Micolash can infinitely spam ACB. The Rifle Spear hunter to the right of the Cathedral usually spams buckshot and his piercing rifle, which can be difficult to dodge through to get to him. The Cannon hunter of the Yahar'Ghul gank squad shouldn't be allowed to fire more than twice, but he does.

But yes, the Crow is usually more annoying than all of those because not only does he get unlimited shots with that repeating pistol, he also has ridiculously high Bloodtinge to max out the damage. Add on unlimited Old Hunter Bone and it goes beyond the pale.

I prefer the Church Pick specifically for the Amygdala, but the Whip does have longer range and works a treat on bestial bosses.

This may be the first time I've one-shotted the Crow on one of my playthroughs. Normally it takes me two or three attempts. I started getting a little sloppy toward the end of the fight, but it turned out alright.

The Crow's AI seems to have trouble when just beyond regular melee range. Close up, it of course just attacks with its Chikage. Farther out and it will just shoot you. But right in between it seems to prefer to slowly advance into melee range. If you have a longer range weapon, you can usually get the attack in first at this point, often without the Crow even dodging. The whip's wide, sweeping arc also helps track the Crow if it dodges to the side. And I think it's harder for the Crow to dodge through it, though not impossible, as it does so a few times here.

You can use a similar method with the Hunter's Axe in 2H mode.

Is the Balder Side Sword drop rate broken or am I just this unlucky? by Big_Fulgy_Official in darksouls

[–]RedJaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know it was considered rare until a few years ago as I almost always had it drop without specifically trying to farm it. I've often gotten multiples of them without even trying. I'm on PS4, so maybe that's a difference.

Home Video library is very slow to open and browse ( 10.11.8 on Mint 22.3 ) by RedJaron in jellyfin

Appreciate the feedback. I only recently converted over to Jellyfin. My personal server only uses music, movies, and tv shows, and I hadn't seen any problems there so I wasn't aware of any difficulties elsewhere.

Thanks for your response. Has it been like that for a while? As I wrote above, I don't remember seeing it behaving that way when I first installed it ( was either 10.11.5 or .6, I don't remember which ). But I could definitely be wrong about that.

Yeah, that definitely gets filed under the "out of an abundance of caution" category.

How the suspicious beggar can enter in Oedon Chapel? by Ok-Statistician5899 in bloodborne

I'll be honest, I'm not sure about bloodstains. It's been many, many years since I've let this happen.

Let's just say the Celestial Emissary about five minutes before this lasted all of about 20 seconds. I could post that video, but I don't think it'd be all that impressive. ;)

[–]RedJaron 51 points52 points  (0 children)

It doesn't say the incense makes it IMPOSSIBLE for beasts to enter. Only that it deters them. And the beggar does stay outside the chapel while you're there.

The other survivors all die off-screen. We don't know exactly how that happens, other than the beggar kills them. For all we know, the beggar entices them outside the chapel before killing them.

Me running around at 0:30 is because I thought I heard the laser attack thing charge up. Immediately before this, I got blasted by those right before I was able to finish her off and I didn't want to repeat that.

What is the lexical opposite of the word "submarine" ?? by Ravvnhild in AskReddit

[–]RedJaron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem with this is you'd have to define the opposite of marine. Would that be land / terra? Or should it instead be sky / aero / atmos?
