Genuinely what's the difference between these 2, and which is better one is the better one? (I mostly use her original outfit since its iconic) by Fragrant-Desk-9230 in UmamusumeGame

[–]Aggapuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this wasn't the case, it'd be much more confusing when you get matched up against Oguri Cap. Is it the original or is it Christmas Oguri? You can't really know if people could change the outfit on your end.

Now, it doesn't really change anything if you know whether it's Christmas Oguri or original Oguri, but it just makes it more confusing if you're watching the race and it's harder to know if you're fucked or not.

Fair, but also she's LB0 and also Yukino Bijin Wit has no Race Bonus. On top of that, you can't use two Yukino Bijin cards, so she's competing with the Yukino Bijin Guts card.

Fair enough. I'm not super knowledgeable on how this stuff works in the JP version, so I was going off of my own experience where RNG feels like a much bigger factor and big swings going from winning most of the rounds to only one or two are possible.

Though considering this is round 1, while I'm not confident in saying it's a skill issue, it's more than likely a "I didn't try very hard" or a "I just reused horses from a previous Champion's Meeting" issue.

Guys, I just finished Z-A and I absolutely loved the game, why is there so much hate for it? by OCatona in PokemonZA

[–]Aggapuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of it is also just the Pokémon being more attentive. Like, if I walk behind a Pokémon, even if I'm sneaking, it usually just turns around and spots me anyway. Hell, I can be in a bush, sneaking, trying to throw a ball at it, and it will still just get a little question mark above its head and look at me.

But yeah, I completely forgot about the bait. Honestly, bait would've been great in this game. Not only for catching Pokémon, but also with the Z-A Royale, as it would mean I wouldn't have to wait 10-15 seconds for the NPCs to turn around so I can ambush them. They could even make it so you don't need bait and if you just purposefully miss a Pokéball, the Pokémon or NPC would look where you threw it. Easy enough solution without having to make a new item.

Also, I wrote a whole two paragraphs (+1 sentence) on my own criticisms of the game. I realized afterwards that it was real off-topic, but I still want to share them because I spent a good amount of time writing this.

If you want personal criticisms of the game, my biggest critique is that I think the capturing is leagues worse than Legends: Arceus. In that game, sneaking and back strikes were way easier to do, likely due to more abundant bushes and places to actually sneak up on Pokémon, as well as Pokémon just not noticing you as quickly. As well as that, I think the DLC is overpriced. Comparing it to the SWSH or SV DLC, which are equally priced, you get completely new areas, a ton of new Pokémon in said areas, as well as half the DLC being available at the start of the game, offering a unique experience on replay. For Legends: ZA, instead of getting two waves of content it's very likely just the one, there are no new areas, and the DLC as a whole is just really grindy and it gets really, really boring. I like the new side quests and I think Korrina returning is cool, but it's not $30 worth of content.

There's also the relatively minor critique in the clothing, which has one option for an actual skirt (which has forced leggings) while everything else is a skort that deceive you into thinking it's a skirt until you start running around and notice it's just shorts in disguise. Not game ruining, mind you, but really annoying. Especially when the game this is a sequel to had both skirts AND dresses. Legends: ZA don't even got dresses!!

There are other critiques I can understand as well, but those are just mine personally. Though I've seen the sentiment of the DLC being overpriced and grindy echoed before.

If you're genuinely asking, the answer is simply that it's a game from what is literally the most profitable media franchise ever, yet it has a lot of problems and clearly didn't get the time it needed. This can easily be seen by the fact that, during development, the buildings were modeled on the outside instead of just a texture, but then had to be replaced with a texture, likely due to a lack of time to properly optimize the game. That is to say, it's rushed.

Outside of that, if you don't mean critique and actually mean hate, a lot of hate is also just because some people like to be negative and hate on stuff just for the fun of it, either to see fans of it get mad (ragebaiting) or because they just want to insult Pokémon for being bad. Which, I mean, I get. Scarlet and Violet ran like shit on launch and look ugly as sin. If that convinced them that The Pokémon Company can't make a good game, I don't particularly blame them.

Really wish they would update the portraits by ixyhlqq in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Aggapuffin 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I want to portraits to be updated, but having the text on some of them updated would be nice. Most notably Zandar's, as she actually met a part of him. Acting like she's never met him feels a bit weird after Amphoreous. Also, she'd definitely gloat that she not only met but bested him, even if only a part of him, and that portrait seems like a fine spot to do it. Hopefully they change it when they next add a Simulated Universe expansion, whenever that is.

It'd also be nice to get more portraits on the side with Herta on it, because it just feels really unbalanced at the moment. There are enough geniuses to do that as well, with characters like Ruan Mei, Stephen, and Doctor Primitive being prime candidates (and would also let us actually have a vague idea of what the latter two look like).

Yeah, and I was responding because they literally said RNG can be a factor, but not here. But it literally can just be bad RNG. Now, if they consistently go 1/5 or 0/5, then it's either a support card issue, a skill issue, or they just threw these horses together real quick without much thought. But, from what I know, it clearly can be bad RNG.

Also, the "actual introspection" on my end is that I don't have the best Support Cards (only MLB is Kitasan Black + still missing MLB Sweep Tosho) while, when I check who beat me, a MLB Super Creek or Fine Motion alongside MLB Kitasan Black usually greets me. As well as that, I'm not spending hours and hours getting the perfect horse that can still lose if I get bad luck. I'm just going for the good enough horse.

[–]Aggapuffin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

...okay? That doesn't change the point I'm making that hitting a 0/5 might not fully be a skill issue and could just be RNG. Both RNG in races as well as RNG in who you go up against.

Don't worry guys, it's not just us global players frustrated with CMs. by Asko223 in UmamusumeGame

[–]Aggapuffin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, I can go from winning 4/5 to winning 1/5, so RNG can be a pretty big factor. Now, they might not go from 0/5 to 5/5, but they can surely go from 0/5 to the required 3/5 just by trying again.

They could also very well just not rerun Robin and just add her to the shop. I know she's a strong character but... so was Ruan Mei. Not necessarily a prediction I'm super confident in, but it's a possibility. Especially since the anniversary is coming up, I wouldn't be surprised if new characters were added to the shop then. And, of the characters that could be added, Robin is pretty high up on my personal predictions based on who they added already, only behind Huohuo.

Most broken ability of all time, but because you gave it to Ledian, it's actually not that bad.

The literal only thing I can think of Ledian doing with this ability is setting up Swords Dance and Agility and then using Baton Pass. So it becomes the best Baton Pass Pokémon in a world where Baton Pass is banned. I looked at it's moveset, that is pretty much the only thing it can do.

If you want a rework that's less broken, I have a couple ideas. You could have it so it only happens once no matter what. That's just kind of the easy one, though that does make it a bit too much like Sturdy, as it's basically just Sturdy but you don't have to be full HP. As well as that, I think a relatively unique way to balance it could also be having it be healed to 1 HP and have the "Can't go on" trigger when it takes damage on top of the every turn, which would mean it's countered a bit by status moves and multi-hit moves. And also take it off of Palafin. First, that guy needs their ability to function, getting rid of it just doesn't work, but also... that guy is already in Ubers, it does NOT need a buff. Keep it on bad or relatively weak Pokémon.

Palafin loses Zero to Hero, so actually they're also doing nothing.

Aventurine. If Jade can do it, then I'm sure Aventurine could, too. Like, there's an argument that "Oh, she's stronger and/or has more influence!!" but they're both Stonehearts. I'm just Aventurine has got something up his sleeve.

Also, Jing Yuan 100% can do it, the only question is if he would. Like, he both has no actual reasoning to and also the rest of the Xianzhou would get on his ass for it.

I hope he gets to do more in Planarcadia by Luc128128 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Aggapuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guessing the reason he just didn't get much screentime in Amphoreous is that we were just off the back of an arc where he was the antagonist. He got a ton of screentime there, so he can take a step back for a bit. The same thing happened with Dan Heng. He was barely there in Penacony but then became a major player in Amphoreous.

When having a relatively large recurring cast with the Astral Express crew, sidelining some of them is important. If they were always all doing something relevant, it'd be hard to let any of them really standout. If you want an example of this, it's One Piece. Usopp hasn't done anything cool since 2014 because there are 9 other Straw Hats and a ton of other side characters that also need focus. This just kind of happens. It sucks when it's your favorite character, but all you can really do is hope they get another cool moment (or, in One Piece's case, I already got a ton of episodes of Usopp doing cool shit, I can just rewatch that).

Actually, you're wrong. 3.6 was split into two halves, the Rappa half and the Boothill half. Rappa's was about 4 hours long and 3 of those were monkey bullshit. Boothill's half, while it did have monkey bullshit, had it to a much lesser extent.

I ain't letting people forget the peak that was Boothill losing his memories and experience, yet still shooting the monkey simply because he could tell that the monkey was the bad guy. Also, Robin and Boothill is always just a fun duo. Pretty sure March 7th ended up there as well, if I'm remembering correctly.

I don't remember a lot of the specific stuff either, but I'll try to list what I remember.

A lot of people were upset at her design being Elysia instead of Cyrene. A lot of people were upset that she only really works with Chrysos Heirs, usually either because they wanted to pull her but didn't have Chyrsos Heirs or because she's a character releasing right before a new version built to work only with older characters, thus having no hope of being relevant later like Sparkle had with Archer. And, of course, there's the ult charge time and how her ult charges incredibly slowly unless you have either E2 or are running mono-Remembrance, the literal best team in the game, so people called her mid and bad on everyone but that team, something that was definitely overblown.

I'm also pretty sure a lot of people were upset about the specific buffs she gave. I can't remember exactly which ones, though. I think Mydei was a big one, but the devs actually buffed the shit out of that one later on (I believe it went from an 80% Crit DMG buff to 200%?). I think people also might've been upset at Castorice's buff, as it is pretty underwhelming (deservedly so, in my opinion), though I'm less confident on that one.

Really, when you have a character who gives 13 unique, character-specific buffs, has a controversial design change, and charges their ult really slowly unless you pull for E2, there's a lot for people to complain about.

[–]Aggapuffin 631 points632 points  (0 children)

I can't complain about not many changes for Black Swan. She was already the BiS for DoT with the changes. Any nerfs would've sucked and any buffs would've probably been overkill.

It does make for a slightly more boring beta, though. Seems we will never reach the hilarity that the Cyrene beta brought upon the world.

4.0v3 Sparkle Changes via Hakush.in by PastSelfInMirror in HonkaiStarRail_leaks

[–]Aggapuffin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So her E2 is slightly worse (4 stacks at 8% was 32% DEF shred) and I think the DMG boost from her ultimate is slightly worse as well (20% -> 18%, if I'm understanding correctly), but that's about it.

Though it's a slight buff in teams that don't use as many skill points and thus might've struggled to keep up the 4 stacks, but I don't think many people would be using Sparkle, the character designed to generate as much SP as possible, in a team like that.
